Emma Katka - Artist My name is Emma Katka, I am a self-taught artist/photographer from Grand Forks, North Dakota. I often find solace through emotive self-portraiture.

♡⟡˙⋆"Opalescent on the surface but translucent in her depths"⋆˙⟡♡ Abandoned houses and the open prairie are my stomping grounds for the creation of dark, dreamy worlds with my camera. As well as incorporating fashion and wonderland vibes into my photo shoots, another expressive outlet in which I create is through hand cut & paste paper expressive surreal collages and black ink freehand drawings. About half way through the process of me making this collage in 2022, while cutting out material from old thrift store books and magazines, piecing and gluing my images together, I couldn’t stop thinking about why the church looked so familiar. It didn’t take me very much longer to realize it was because I have been here many times! It didn’t strike me as obvious at first because I had never seen the church in this state, let alone with paint still on it! This is a special collage to me 🖤

Found a castle house as the sun set behind cloudy skies yesterday. I love this vast land that I call home and all the magic that resides within it waiting to be discovered.

Mariah and I spent 10+ hours exploring and creating across the prairie after not having adventured together since 2019. We have gone out on adventures at least every other year since 2012. We were way overdue! (And we are now both covered in mosquito bites from head to toe.)
