Ask your DJ (or whoever) about uplighting colors. Sometimes depending on your wedding venue or wedding colors certain colors might not be complementary, especially for speeches and cake cutting.

Unwanted Wedding Advice: Part 2

Try to stick to a shot list that is 10-20 combinations of people. This will help you not get photo-ed out immediately after the ceremony, you can enjoy the cocktail hour, and get candids with you and your guests instead. You can also alternatively do a photo dash of each table!

If you do have a longer shot list, it’s okay! To cut down on time, make sure everyone knows when the photos will be (typically right after the ceremony). Try to appoint someone who knows everyone to grab any of the stragglers.

Unwanted wedding advice: Part 1

Do the first look. It’s a great way to get some couples portraits done so that you can actually enjoy cocktail hour. You’ll also be able to take a little break and avoid getting photo-ed out after the usual formal family photos after the ceremony. I always suggest this, but it’s not for everyone and that’s okay!

A little engagement session before their wedding in October. I love having engagement sessions as part of my wedding packages so I can meet the couples in person and work with them before the wedding day.

I was low key a little worried when the bride casually mentioned that the groom made the cake. I had many questions. Like did he run a side hustle as a baker? Is this his hobby? The answer: no, he trialed it out like three times. We were very impressed by this cake.
