This photo of Jessica Daniels Proctor might be my favorite from the horseback shooting competition at Wildcatter Ranch and Resort. I've never had to photograph something moving this fast and create the level of clarity that this photo captured.

More photos from this photo shoot coming tomorrow (sneak preview is on the Wildcatter's post from yesterday)

Big thanks to Wildcatter Ranch and Resort for inviting me to come take some photos at the horseback shooting competition this weekend. This is one of my top 5 favorite photos from the event, not just because of how well it came out, but also because I was able to catch the flames coming out of the gun.

Fun story. I posted some pictures of the carnival and Justin Horton (Another local photographer), commented on them. The comment was made that "we should do a photo shoot together some time". The next day I showed up to Helluva Taco Fest, and was informed that there was another photographer shooting the event with me. You guessed it. Justin was there shooting for the PK Chamber of Commerce, and I was there for PK Magazine. Less than 24 hours and life has put us together for this event. Life works in crazy ways sometimes.

Can't wait for everyone to see the photos from the Taco Fest in the next edition of the PK-Magazine. Be on the lookout for the early summer edition when it comes out!

Also feel free to give Justin a follow on Instagram at .r_photo.

(Photos are of Justin because it's so rare to catch a photo of the photographer 😆)

Some of the best photos are never planned, you just grab the camera, hop in the car, and hope for the best. Ruby Jernigan mentioned taking photos of this property earlier this week, I didnt have an exact time for when I could snag these because the rain has been so sporadic. Then a couple days ago the storms hit, the clouds passed, and just in time for some sunset color I shot her a message and said I was on my way. 40 minutes of driving, just to capture the last few minutes of sunset... I think they turned out great. 😊

PSA/Warning for all my homeowner and real estate agent friends out there!

Just a quick break to let people know that the FAA is really taking note of drones and how they are flown. If you are taking photos or having photos taken of your property to use in a sale, the FAA has classified that as "Commercial Use" and you will have to be licensed to fly the drone, regardless of if you meet the hobby size/weight classification on said drone.

While this may seem like a small deal, the FAA is allowed to fine pilots up to $75,000 for violations. If the property owners/agents hire an unlicensed pilot and he/she is caught/does something illegal. That homeowner and agent can be fined up to 10X what the pilot is fined.

As your friend, this is too big of a risk to not share with you. Stay safe, and enjoy the some more pictures in my next post. 😉

If you want to read more about this topic, there will be a couple links in the comments.
