I've been honored to create the 2027 Senior Class Banners for North Mac. I love being able to showcase our athletes in a way that makes them feel larger than life during senior year. These kids work too hard not to have something they're proud to see hanging up.

This year, one banner meant a little more.

Creating an honorary banner for Nolan was a must for me. Nolan would have been a part of the Class of 2027, and while nothing will ever replace him, I hope seeing his banner reminds everyone that he'll always be a part of North Mac.

I'm grateful to create something that celebrates this class while also honoring one of their own. 💙

Last night was a gorgeous evening, and if you didn’t get outside, you truly missed out. Lexie and I started at the soccer field, then moved on to play with fire. She was up for anything I had in mind, which makes her my favorite kind of client. After one test run, she was ready to jump right in, and we had the best time creating these images. I hope you enjoy looking through them as much as we enjoyed making them. Thanks, Lexie and the O’Shea family, for trusting me and letting me have fun with these. 🔥 📸

Every year around this time, I get to spend a very special 30 minutes with my day ones. Breanna and her family were the first family to “make” me take their portraits when I started my business, and “make” has been our inside joke ever since.

We do the same pose every year for their family shot, and the kids always have to get a photo on the upside‑down boat. After that, they take over with their creativity, telling me all about the shots they’d like to do. Each year, they get more and more into it. This year, the big request was for me to stay until midnight taking photos of Macy. Yes, just Macy LOL.

Typically, Mack pulls out his four‑wheeler for some fun action shots, but this year he was all about baseball. He ran inside, geared up, and we got to work.

I love every July, not just for the 4th, but because I get to have my wildly fun, chaotic, full‑of‑laughter shoots with the Mitchell family.

As always, thank you for “making” me take your photos. 🥰

When Lexi won my Senior Session at Post Prom, she told me something every photographer loves to hear:

“I trust you. Be creative”

Her only request, keep it natural.

Challenge accepted.

We started out in the countryside with one of the most important parts of her story, her pup. I wanted to preserving a chapter of life that she’ll always want to remember.

From there, we wandered through Washington Park, where the evening light seemed to follow her everywhere we went. Every corner gave us something different, and she made it all look effortless.

Then we ended the night where I always feel most inspired… the water.

This is where she completely trusted my vision. I asked “how wet are you willing to get” She quickly replied with “I’ll dive head first in if need be”

We played with light, reflections, movement, silhouettes, and a few ideas that lived only in my head until that moment.

Together, we created images that are unlike anything else from her session and some of my favorite senior portraits I’ve captured.

Alexia, thank you for choosing my package as your Post Prom prize, but even more, thank you for trusting me enough to create. Your willingness to step outside the ordinary is what made this session so special. ❤️

This mini senior session wasn’t about the senior, she wanted to honor something bigger than herself.

This was about the people who came before her.

When Lexie and her family reached out, they told me they wanted to include two places that mean everything to them: a family-owned crane at O’Shea Builders and a street sign that simply reads O’Shea Way.

To most people, it’s just a sign. Just an ugly ole crane and heavy working equipment.

To their family, it’s a reminder of people who built something so meaningful that the City of Springfield honored Lexie’s great-grandparents by naming a street after them.

That’s what I love most about photography.

Anyone can take a picture of a person.

But when you capture a legacy, a family name, generations of hard work, suddenly that photo means something far beyond today.

Years from now, these images won’t just remind Lexie of her senior year. They’ll remind her where she came from, whose shoulders she stands on, and the story she’ll one day pass on herself.

These are the moments worth preserving.

Those are the stories I look to tell through my camera.

Thank you, Lexie for letting me be a part of this.
