From tiny newborn snuggles to ONE! 🎀👑

One of my absolute favorite parts of newborn photography is getting to see these sweet babies come back as they grow. 🥹 The reel has a few little glimpses from her newborn session, and now here we are celebrating her first birthday!

And apparently, she remembered me because there was zero stranger danger happening here 😂. She was perfectly content sitting in my lap, hanging out with me, and just having the best time during her session. 💕

I love getting to capture all of these different phases. The sleepy newborn days, the growing personalities, the smiles, the silliness, and all the little things that make them unique. It goes so unbelievably fast.

And for this milestone? Pink, bows, crowns and a castle were definitely in order. 🎀🏰👑

Taken on my posing bean bag, so many little details to remember from the sleepy face, tiny toes, wispy newborn hair, and those perfect little hands tucked beneath her cheek.

The posing portion of my newborn sessions is designed to give you beautiful variety without needing lots of props or elaborate setups. We can change wraps, textures and accessories while keeping the focus exactly where it belongs. On your baby. 🤍

And I don't think I'll ever get tired of these soft, neutral tones.

The tiny toes in the wooden bowl, those little hands tucked under her chin…and then THAT smile in the flower. 🌸 I mean, come on.

Props, colors and accessories can all be chosen to create a session that feels just right for your baby and your style.

I’m pretty sure she knew exactly how cute she was. 🥹🤍

From the tiniest little smile to those perfect newborn details, this sweet girl gave me so much goodness to work with.

One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is creating a gallery with lots of variety while still keeping everything soft, cohesive and focused on baby. And this one came together beautifully. 🤍

Now excuse me while I try to narrow down which ones to share, because apparently choosing just a few is not one of my strengths. 😂

Before the props, the tiny outfits, and all the carefully planned details… there’s this. 🤍

The way she fits completely in Dad’s hands. The way Mom looks at her. Tiny fingers wrapped around theirs. And two brand-new parents soaking in the little person who just changed everything.

These are some of my favorite images to create during a newborn session because someday, she’ll get to see just how tiny she was and just how completely loved she was from the very beginning. 🤍

Family portraits can be added to any in-studio newborn session, and they don’t have to feel formal or complicated. We’ll capture the traditional portraits, but also all of these quiet little moments in between.

The hair. The cheeks. The tiny toes. 🥹

This little guy brought some seriously good hair to his newborn session, and I’m not sure I’m over it yet.

One of my favorite things about photographing newborns is capturing both the portraits you’ll frame and all those tiny details that change before you even realize they’re changing.

The sleepy expressions.
The little fingers tucked under a cheek.
Those brand-new toes.
And yes… all that hair. 🤎

They’re only this little for such a ridiculously short time.

There’s something about those first family portraits. 🤍

Everything is brand new. The tiny person in your arms, the way you suddenly look at each other as Mom and Dad, and this completely new version of your family.

I love making time during newborn sessions for more than just beautiful images of baby. The way Dad holds him. The way he fits against Mom. Those quiet little glances that happen when everyone forgets about the camera for a second.

Because as much as these photos are for you now, someday they’ll be for him, too. 🤍

A little behind the scenes of a day in my life as a newborn photographer 🤍

There’s a whole lot that happens before those sweet, sleepy finished images make it into a gallery. From wrapping to soothing, posing, tiny adjustments, waiting for baby to settle… and occasionally being completely bossed around by someone who weighs less than 10 pounds. 😂

Every session moves at baby’s pace. Some babies sleep through almost everything, some need a few extra snuggles and snack breaks, and every one of them makes the session their own.

I love getting to show a little of the process because the finished images are only part of the story. So much care goes into safely posing these tiny humans and creating the images their families will keep long after they aren’t quite so tiny anymore.

And of course, I had to include a few of the finished images at the end. 🥹
