The reception was last Sunday. I had fully intended on recording it, but honestly, I was having too much fun meeting everyone there and discussing their works and mine.

Step into history through fine art. This striking still life portrait features a statue of Abraham Lincoln, photographed in Gettysburg, a place forever tied to his legacy and the powerful words of the Gettysburg Address.

I transformed this image beyond traditional photography by removing the original background and digitally crafting a custom portrait backdrop using layered textures. The result is a timeless, painterly composition that blends history with modern fine art design. Perfect for collectors, history enthusiasts, and anyone looking to bring a meaningful statement piece into their space. Own a piece of American history reimagined through art. High-quality fine art prints are available.

I entered three photographs into the Spring Show at the Hanover Area Arts Guild a couple weeks ago. Today I went to see the setup and check out everyone's work and ended up leaving in a very good mood.

The trees are in full bloom! I got a new to me lens the other day and what better way to test it out than to photograph Federal Pointe Inn's outdoor patio. The lens I got is a vintage Contax Zeiss 60mm lens. It wasn't wide enough to capture the whole scene, so I had to do a panorama.

This tree was my son and I's last stop while exploring the Culp's Hill area. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun hanging out with my boy. He's a photographer too!

Black and white fine art photograph of a weathered wooden farm gate leaning gently in a quiet field at the base of Culp's Hill, framed by two, wind-shaped pine trees under a textured sky. The aged fence, with its diagonal bracing and rough-hewn posts, draws the eye toward the natural symmetry of the evergreens, creating a timeless rural composition rooted in American history. Culp’s Hill played a critical role during the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863, where Union forces fiercely defended the high ground against repeated Confederate assaults, helping secure a turning point in the Civil War. This peaceful modern scene stands in quiet contrast to that violent past, offering a reflective moment where history and nature coexist. Captured during an exploration with my son near Gettysburg Middle School, we discovered this overlooked vantage point at the base of the hill, where the simplicity of the fence and pine became the focal story. Originally composed in landscape orientation, I refined the image to emphasize the character and balance between the gate and the trees, removing distractions to highlight the essence of the scene. This photograph blends historical significance with rustic charm, making it ideal wall art for collectors of Civil War landscapes, farmhouse decor, and minimalist black and white photography.

A dramatic black and white of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, framed by trees under a dramatic cloud-filled sky at sunset. The elegant white spire rises above the brick chapel, symbolizing both faith and history in one of America’s most storied landscapes. Founded in 1826, the seminary played a significant role during the Battle of Gettysburg, serving as a strategic lookout point and later as a hospital for wounded soldiers. This photograph captures not only architectural beauty but also the enduring legacy of the site, where theology and history intersect. Shot using a vintage Nikon 50mm lens, the image showcases a timeless perspective with soft depth and rich tonal contrast, enhancing the nostalgic atmosphere of late fall. The composition leads the eye from the foreground tree to the steeple, creating a sense of balance and serenity. Perfect for collectors of Civil War landmarks, historic architecture, or autumn landscapes, this fine art print brings a sense of heritage and tranquility into any living space. Ideal wall art for homes, offices, or history enthusiasts seeking a meaningful and visually striking piece rooted in American history.
