My knees hurt every time she gets into position 🫠
They say every position matters
But if you’re a catcher’s mom,
you know this one is different.
You don’t just watch the game
you watch everything.
Every pitch that hits the glove just a little too hard.
Every foul tip that makes your heart skip a beat.
Every time they drop to their knees to block a ball in the dirt
And you sit there holding your breath,
pretending you’re okay,
because they are.
You watch them take hits no one else wants to take.
You watch them lead, call plays, keep the game moving
all while carrying more pressure than most people realize.
And somehow
They love it.
They love being in the middle of it all.
They love the grit, the responsibility, the challenge.
And you?
You learn a different kind of strength.
The kind where you clap even when you want to flinch.
The kind where you trust them to get back up every single time.
The kind where you realize they’re tougher than you ever imagined.
Because behind that mask…
is a kid who’s learning resilience in real time.
And behind the fence…
is a mom who feels every moment of it.
