Early this morning I drove a few hours west of Salt Lake City to see the newly discovered comet C/2023 P1 Nishimura just before sunrise. Here's a capture of the comet and stars reflecting off the water saturated salt flats. It is faint but visible in the upper right third of the frame. It will pass by our planet again in about 400 years.
