Small Business Saturday is important. I get the Black Friday deals, and the Cyber Monday excitement. I've been there, I've done all of that. Both are, in theory, good ideas for our American way of life.
But, if you will, for a moment... Let's talk about that American way of life. There is a dream in many of our hearts. A dream that ignites the fires of our souls... A dream that spurs on our passions, and leads us to the deep well of freedom.
Following your heart and your passions often leads to a critical choice: Stay comfortable with the life you live and the job you have, or step out of the boat, and into the water. So often, we choose the former. We like to be comfortable.
On Small Business Saturday, though, we honor those of us who have made the uncomfortable choice... Those who step out and decide to share their talents and passions with the big, wide world... And you.
I encourage you all to support these men and women every day of the year, not just today. The money you spend with these businesses truly goes to the owner's daily expenses, including feeding his family, buying coats for his kids, and so on. You're not blindly throwing money to a huge, faceless corporation, you're making a difference in the lives of these courageous men and women.
I get it, on a personal level. I am a small business owner. It's not easy. I am all of my problems and I am all of my solutions. Yet, there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not grateful that God has given me a passion and an ability to capture small parts of the lives of my clients. I love capturing the smiles and the laughter of the families that I work with. I love looking through photos, and seeing the reaction of a groom when he sees his bride. Life is so, so beautiful... And I am blessed to be allowed to capture some of its finest moments.
I want to share my passion with each of you. I want to help you see the beautiful side of you and your family. Life is a grand adventure... Let's capture the moments that we never want to forget. I'm not a huge fan of discounts... I think good work speaks for itself. Yet, I also realize the financial burden many of you are under as Christmas approaches.
