I can’t stand the cuteness!

This was a completely impromptu little shoot. Originally, I was gonna go for a run during this time, but a last minute schedule conflict changed those plans.

So, I shifted gears. I’ve really been wanting to go shoot some pretty leaves in the sunset. I decided this provided an opportunity to do that, but Gunner would be coming along for the ride. So, I decided I’d get some of this cowboy in the sunset, too!

And, boy, am I glad I did! 😍🥰

I really, really love capturing my kids’ teams (baseball and softball, at least). There is something magical about that light and seeing them interact with their teammates and coaches.

Baseball and softball are the easiest because it’s outdoors with lots of natural light, and you can get up close and personal with the game.

I was looking back through some old photos that I never got around to editing and came across Mila’s and Rimini’s 12th and 15th birthday session. I can’t believe I forgot about these! They grow so fast! She’s definitely had a growth spurt recently. She’s much taller now!

This stunning model just so happens to also be my niece. It was SO COLD that day. The wind, as you can tell, was insane, which caused near intolerable conditions combined with the temperature. I was bundled up in layers and a coat and still wanted to call it quits. But she pushed through like a champ!

In some images, you can see her holding a Native American blanket. My siblings have recently been digging into our ancestry. We’ve always known we were Cherokee, but didn’t realize that our percentage is considered incredibly high in today’s world. I never thought much of it when I was younger, but looking at us all now, our features seem obvious. It’s interesting to see the lineage and who was and was not enrolled in the Dawes Rolls.

We have our rough times just like anyone (some days it seems like it’s rough ALL the time), but she sure makes me proud, and she is proving more and more that I can trust her to make good life decisions. She surprises me and challenges me. And I can’t BELIEVE that I have a 10th grader!!

This little outfit on her was adorable! Although she was freezing the whole time.

She’s becoming quite a little lady. She’s definitely turned a corner of maturity. She cares more about her appearance now, asking me all kinds of questions about how to do her hair. I’m the wrooong person to ask. Good thing she’s got sisters who can lead her in the right direction.
