Its been in my heart ever since. I believe I was gifted with the ability to observe and anticipate unique moments that others miss. It brings me a great sense of joy and accomplishment to know that I have the ability to capture memories for others that they will look back on for years to come. As I sometimes look back on captured memories of my own, some of dear friends who are no longer with me,
I am grateful for the images that I was privileged to capture, and that I still have them to look back on. That is what this is all about for me. Don Ohina - Dream Team Studios
There's a quote that says, "A picture paints a thousand words". As a writer, I use words to paint a mental picture and tell a story. I do the same when I step behind my lens. Do I consider myself a photographer? Well, many have different opinions about what a photographer is. To me, my camera is the tool I use to capture the intimacy or raw emotion of a rare moment. Patiently waiting for that small, open window into the soul of a fellow human being. The essence of that person finding their "sweet spot" while while doing that which resonates with their soul, to a candid moment in mid-conversation, or an embrace between lovers. Capturing the God-made beauty that takes my breath away. To me they are "sacred moments", holy ground, if you will. I don't consider what I do a "job" because it is a work of the soul for me. My camera is an extension of me and the catalyst that allows me even in the smallest of ways, to freeze a frame in the fabric of time. An image that captures the raw emotion of the moment. An image that will take you back in time and allow you to relive your story. Am I a photographer? But what I DO know is that I'm a storyteller. Whether that story is told with words or an image, it is a story worth telling, in my opinion. I don't take it lightly, nor do I take it for granted. My journey has taught me that the more sacred moments I capture, the more my heart settles into its purpose. THIS is how I capture the stories brought to me. And my soul knows that I'm in the right place and doing the right thing. "Thank you" for the honor and privilege of capturing your moments; for allowing US to tell your story. Linda B. Ohina
