The clouds rolled in low and instead of worrying about it, Nicole and Sergio just let Colorado do its thing. It felt like the mountains pulled a curtain around them and drew them in close.

Before they met at the amphitheater for their private vows, Nicole’s mom helped her into her dress, crying through every button. Sergio’s brother helped with his jacket and gave him a pat on the shoulder.

When Sergio turned and saw her walking toward him, a smile spread across his entire face. Their vows mixed perfectly with the breeze through the aspens and the sound of the lake.

Half of Nicole’s elopement was shot on film, and it was such a perfect aesthetic for her wedding. The thing I love about film is that it asks something of you. You trust the moment and move on, no peeking, no do-overs. It was exactly how she envisioned her day documented.

A violinist played them down the aisle. They laughed through their ceremony. Their families’ cheers echoed off the water, and then it was quiet again, just the two of them frolicking through the meadow with wildflowers at their ankles and the iconic Maroon Bells standing behind them.

We are so honored to have been there 🤍

If this is the kind of day you’re dreaming of, reach out. Dates at the amphitheater move fast and we would love to help you get yours.

There is something incredibly powerful about stripping away the guest list of 200 and keeping only the souls who truly anchor you. When you choose a small group elopement, you aren’t just picking a location; you are curating the energy of your entire day, ensuring that every person standing in that mountain circle is adding to your peace rather than draining it.

But how do you keep it intentional when family dynamics get complicated? We wrote a new guide for the 2026 couples who want to protect their peace while inviting their people along for the ride.

Head to the link in our bio to see how to pull off a small group elopement without the drama!

Still buzzing over the news that this moment from Kayla and Will’s elopement won a Legend Award!

It is a massive privilege to be recognized by the judges, and honestly, just being in the company of the other winners is an honor in itself. It’s such a huge deal to be listed alongside so many talented photographers that I’ve been inspired by for a long time!

What I love about this shot is that it is exactly how Kayla and Will’s elopement felt. Fun, connected, and completely present.

It’s not often that rain settles into the Colorado mountains and sticks around for the whole day, but we spent that morning wandering through the trees and just letting the weather happen. Kayla and Will are the kind of people who didn’t just handle a rainy day, they completely embraced it.

Their love is so effortless and joyful, and seeing that firsthand was such a highlight for me. Kayla and Will, thank you for being the absolute troopers you are and for choosing me to document the pure love and fun you two share!

This is the story about how Morgan and Layton traveled all the way from the South and saw snow for the first time on their wedding day ❄️

We met at the Bear Lake in April, and while Denver was starting to see some green, the mountains were still very much in the middle of winter. That’s the thing about Colorado: If you’re planning to be at 10,000 feet in April, you aren’t getting wildflowers; you’re getting a winter wonderland!

After they exchanged vows at Bear Lake, we hiked up to Dream Lake. Just as we started hiking, the snow started falling and watching their faces light up was the best part of the entire day. Seeing those massive, jagged peaks covered in fresh snow for the first time is a reaction I’ll never forget!

Their RMNP elopement just goes to show that the best days aren’t about chasing “perfect” weather. They’re about the person who holds your hand when you’re slipping on an icy trail and you’re just happy to be experiencing something totally new together.

If you want to see what a real April elopement looks like in Rocky Mountain National Park, the full story is at the link in my bio ✨

Taylor and Jacob didn’t rush into their wedding day. They hiked into it. Talking, laughing, stopping to look at wildflowers, taking in the incredible mountain views like they had all the time in the world…because they truly did.

By the time we reached Lake Isabelle, it was just still alpine water, soft summer wind, and two people standing by the shore, self solemnizing with shaky voices and vows that felt like no one else in the world existed for a few quiet, beautiful minutes.

Halfway through their portraits, it started to rain. Instead of running for cover, they stayed. They laughed. Held each other tighter. Danced. And let it become part of their story.

Days like this are why we love elopements. They are intentional, meaningful, and a little unpredictable.

You can read their full elopement story and watch their video on the blog.

And if your wedding day feels more like a mountain trail than a ballroom, we’ll meet you at the trailhead 🥾💛

Afternoon light spilled into their Keystone Airbnb. Travis buttoned Madison’s dress, and she straightened his bowtie. They giggled together, leaned into each other, and the quiet rhythm of getting ready felt electric.

Outside, snow dusted Breckenridge. Cold air stung their cheeks but couldn’t touch them. They held each other close, spoke vows that made their eyes glisten, and for a moment, everything else disappeared. It was just Madison and Travis in the snowy mountains of Colorado, expressing their love for one another in the most tender way.

After their ceremony, we headed to Lake Dillon where they wandered through snow, playing, hugging, letting the world fall away. They were so full of joy you couldn’t help gut laugh along side them!

Back at their Airbnb, they signed their marriage license, read letters from family, shared cake, and slipped into matching sweatsuits. And to end their wedding day they toasted their marriage at their favorite bar, soft smiles and laughter filling the space around them.

PS: Peep their custom “we eloped” newspaper! Are you kidding me?! So good! 😭

HOW TO SELF SOLEMNIZE IN COLORADO

What if your wedding day was just…you two?

No officiant in between your vows.
No script that does not resonate with you.
No pressure to do it anyone else’s way.

Just you, your partner, and the Colorado mountains holding space while you choose each other out loud.

Couples travel from all over the world to get married here because Colorado allows you to have a truly just the two of us wedding experience, one where the day revolves entirely around your connection, and self solemnizing is what makes that kind of intimate, intentional day possible.

If you have ever wondered how this works, I broke it all down step by step in my latest blog. You can read the full guide on how to self solemnize in Colorado, link in bio!

And if you are feeling like this might be your kind of wedding day, send me a message. I would be honored to be in your corner, helping you dream up locations, navigate permits, plan the details, and capture your vows in the mountains.

“Photography isn’t political.” It is. To document people and their lives is to care about the world they live in. We believe basic human decency and empathy should never be political, yet here we are.

At the heart of this work are people.
The stories we are trusted to tell.
The lives we are invited into, even if only for a moment.

As creatives, we don’t just document love and connection. We witness real humans opening their hearts in our presence. Those stories matter to us, and the people behind them matter so so deeply to us.

We believe immigrants deserve safety, dignity, and belonging because no one is illegal. We want ICE abolished so our communities can live without fear. We believe that our LGBTQ+ community deserves to live, love, and exist openly without fear.

This space is built on humanity, connection, and standing with the people in our communities. We will not shrink or stay silent.

Shania and John got married at the Colorado State Capitol, and from the moment we arrived it felt like this place was meant for their elopement.

When they first reached out and shared their vision with us, we were so excited. This was our very first courthouse elopement, and documenting it with these two was such a joy! The Capitol’s ornate details, the grand staircases, the quiet corners, it all complemented them so naturally.

What stood out most was the way they stayed anchored to each other through every moment. Their big smiles, the way their hands kept finding one another, the ease that comes from loving someone deeply and without hesitation. Surrounded by the beauty of the Capitol, it felt like the perfect reflection of their love. They truly could not have chosen a more perfect place to get married!

Larz and Louie’s springtime elopement was just featured on Wandering Weddings! Larz and Louie had one of the most emotional wedding days we’ve ever documented and we feel so honored that they chose and trusted us to freeze their love story in time.

You can read all about their elopement below! But grab your tissue box, we promise you’ll need it.

In May, the Colorado mountains move at their own pace. Snow lingers longer at elevation, weather shifts quickly, and spring arrives unevenly across the landscape. For Larz and Louie, this rhythm shaped an elopement day that unfolded slowly, intentionally, and without pressure to perform or rush.
