"I want you to engage with the world from a place of worthiness. You will learn that you are worthy of love, belonging, and joy every time you see me practice self-compassion and embrace my own imperfections." - Brene Brown

Do you ever have those days when you just want to stay on the couch under a blanket? I know I do. And, my kids do too. At my house, we say that we're going to "sloth it up." ๐ฆฅ Usually, this happens after we've finished our school activities and my work for the day. Because I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to getting things done. If I'm being honest, I expect a lot of myself and should be more gentle. ๐ฌ I tell my clients and students this all the time - using the phrase "Be Gentle With Yourself." And, we should. I should.
Be gentle with yourself.
Be gentle with your kids.
Be gentle with others.
We are worthy of love and kindness and the chance to be exactly what we are able in any given moment. As parents, that's hard. When our kids show up and say, "Not today," are we gentle? I'd like to believe that the answer is Yes. The truth is that I do my best.
What on earth does this have to do with the sweet family I'm sharing today? Well, I see this mama show up for her boys again and again. She loves and laughs and meets them where they're at, even on days when they say, "No thanks!" And, the result is lots of snuggles and a beautiful connection.
