There is something so beautiful, emotional, and transitional about a newborn shoot, especially with the first baby. It’s so much more than the “we have to find the right light”. It’s the in between moments of the photos. The: “Am I doing this right? Is this normal? I’m so sorry if they’re crying, I just fed them.” This is what I love the most about these shoots. It’s a joy to come alongside a new mom and, yes, of course take the pictures. But I love to actually walk alongside them, encourage them, and make them feel beautiful in a time where it’s hard to feel that way in that postpartum season. I’ve been through it twice and I know those feelings. I know the baby blues, I know the uncertainty of becoming a new mom, and I know the strength of my love and concern for both of my babies even though at the time I felt like I had no idea what I was doing.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with photography, but I just want others to feel the heart behind my newborn photography. I’m not just here to take the pictures. I want you to feel loved, cared for, and served during these sessions.

You need to take 5 minutes for yourself during the session? Go for it. You need to feed the baby? Awesome. Need to change your shirt because the baby spit up for the 50th time? Do it. Need a pumping break? I got ya girl. (Former full time pumping mama 🙋🏼‍♀️)

I am actually so in love with these photos I quite literally cannot choose my favorites and might have sent her the most photos I’ve ever sent a client with no regrets. 💁🏼‍♀️🫶🏻💞
