Flagstaff weddings have a way of feeling both rugged and incredibly refined at the same time. The air in the pines always seems to settle the nerves of a wedding morning, and the light up here does most of the heavy lifting for me. This day was a perfect example of why I love photographing in the high country.

I find myself drawn to the small, specific choices that make a day feel so natural and fitting to this southwest mountain town. The groom wearing a bolo tie with his suit, the bride with flowers tied into her hair, or the sight of the couple's dog wandering through the ceremony all tell a much more honest story than any posed portrait ever could. This was a classic Flagstaff celebration, captured exactly as it unfolded.

There is a specific kind of stillness in the details of a wedding morning before the rest of the day takes over. These are the small, quiet elements that set the tone for the celebration ahead. It was a joy to document these pieces of my cousin’s story as her wedding day came together.

Ali & Adam got married last fall on a rainy monsoon day (a sign of good luck!) and everything smelled like fresh pine trees. There was a lot of line dancing and good doggos and delicious cupcakes and heartfelt speeches and the way this couple looked at each other was so pure and loving. It was a perfect wedding day.

MY BROTHER IS GETTING MARRIED!! 🎉

Truly, what an honor to take engagement photos for Matt & Helen while I was back in Chicago for the holidays. We bopped around to take photos at their favorite places that reflect their relationship and life together in the city.

It's always about the people.

2025 has been a great year! I accomplished some things that I'm proud of, but more importantly, I got to cheer on my friends and family this year. They ran races, got married, had babies, got new jobs, faced a fear, got their work published, traveled a long way, etc. and there is nothing better than celebrating the people we love.

Here's to more celebrations and adventures in 2026 🥂🎉

This was one for the books! Karly & Alex had the full Chicago winter experience for their wedding day and they fully embraced it. I have more beautiful photos to share, but this one is my current favorite from their day.
