Well, this one is a little full circle. 🥹
I met Alicia her freshman year of college + my sophomore year in Rhode Island. She was in a sorority, I very much was not, and somehow we became really fu***ng good friends really fast.
I photographed her constantly throughout college — and when I say constantly, I mean I am currently sitting on an absolutely alarming amount of photographic + video evidence from this era that will never see the light of day. 😂 We even had a band with a few of our friends called Baby Lips, which was exactly as serious and successful as you’re imagining.
But beyond all of the ridiculousness, Alicia has been one of those people who has continued to show up through every version of life since. She’s followed along with me and my photography for all of these years, supported me, checked in on me, and cheered me on from afar.
So when I saw that she and Nate got engaged last year, I genuinely couldn’t help myself. I immediately reached out basically like, if you’re looking for a wedding photographer… holler at your girl because I would be HONORED.
And somehow that led us here.
All these years after I first started photographing her in college, I found myself back in Rhode Island — a place that will forever feel like my second home — on a boat with Alicia and the man she’s going to marry, photographing their engagement session with their wedding venue sitting across the water.
Like… come on.
Bare feet, salt air, windblown hair, Rhode Island summer + one of my oldest friends in front of my camera again.
Some things change. Some things apparently don’t. 🤍
Alicia + Nate. See you at the altar, babes.
