Happy Pride month! 🏳️🌈
I want to remind everyone that q***r joy is one of the most beautiful forms of resistance in today's climate.
I often joke that world peace could be achieved if men would stop running from their gay thoughts. While I say it jokingly, I do genuinely believe the world would be a happier, kinder, and more peaceful place if people stopped living for the expectations of others and started embracing who they truly are.
I know that's easier said than done. I've been there myself.
I know the person I was when I was afraid of who I really was because it didn't fit the version of me I thought everyone expected. And I know how much changed when I finally let go of that fear. Little by little, I became more myself. More honest. More kind. More at peace. More free.
I also understand that for many people, being authentic comes with real risks. Safety is not something everyone can take for granted. That is especially true for our trans brothers and sisters.
Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, there is an active effort to erase trans people. When people are denied healthcare, denied legal recognition, denied the right to exist openly as themselves, and subjected to increasing hostility and violence, we cannot pretend these are isolated incidents. They are part of a larger pattern aimed at making trans lives harder, less visible, and less sustainable.
I will not be silent about that.
Trans people deserve more than tolerance. They deserve safety, dignity, freedom, and the right to exist without their humanity being questioned. We cannot allow fear, prejudice, or political convenience to determine who gets to belong in our communities.
Pride has always been about more than celebration. It is about visibility. Community. Defiance. Love. It is about standing together and saying that everyone deserves the freedom to exist as themselves without fear.
So this month, and every month, choose authenticity. Choose compassion. Choose each other.
Be Good. Do Good.
