Something that’s truly been on my mind the last few weeks.
When I first picked up my camera, I thought the hardest part would be learning the settings, finding my style, or building a client base. But what really caught me off guard was the silence from others already in the industry — the ones I looked up to, admired, and hoped would cheer me on.
I didn’t expect applause, but I also didn’t expect to feel invisible.
If you’re starting something new — especially something creative — and you don’t feel supported by the people you thought would be your community, I see you. It’s easy to feel discouraged, to wonder if you’re good enough, or if you belong.
But here’s the truth: you don’t need permission to grow.
The fact that you’re starting is powerful. The fact that you’re brave enough to show up without a crowd behind you speaks volumes about your passion and your grit.
And just because someone else has been doing it longer doesn’t mean they get to decide your worth.
To the new photographers out there: keep going. Celebrate every small win. Keep showing up for your art. The people who are meant to find you will. And maybe one day, you’ll be the one lifting up the next person who dares to dream.
We rise by lifting others — even when others didn’t lift us.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to capture their moments — more than I ever imagined at this point in my journey. And to my future clients, I can’t wait to work with you! I truly love what I do. It’s fun, fulfilling, and such a joy.
