Thank You, Williamson Ruritan Club!

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Williamson Ruritan Club in St. Thomas, PA for inviting me to speak at your meeting on July 2, 2026. It was an honor to share how today's drone technology is helping organizations make better-informed decisions through aerial mapping, LiDAR, thermal imaging, 3D modeling, and immersive 360° imagery.

The attached video of the Ruritan building was not captured with a 360° camera. Instead, it was created using specialized photogrammetry software that combined more than 1,500 high-resolution aerial images into a single, highly detailed 3D model. These models allow owners, engineers, architects, contractors, and facility managers to virtually inspect a site from anywhere, take accurate measurements, document existing conditions, monitor construction progress, identify maintenance issues, and preserve a permanent digital record of the project.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who attended and participated in the discussion. Your interest, questions, and warm welcome made it a truly enjoyable experience.

Excited to share that SkyBorne Drone Solutions was recently featured in The Herald-Mail ahead of my upcoming presentation to the Boonsboro Environmental Commission on May 13.

I’ll be discussing how drone mapping, LiDAR, and aerial data collection can support environmental planning, land-use analysis, construction monitoring, and infrastructure decision-making here in our local community.

For this presentation, I’ll be showcasing:
• LiDAR mapping of Shafer Park
• Construction progress mapping from the Chase 6 Blvd Project
• Examples of terrain analysis, contours, runoff evaluation, and 3D site data
• How high-resolution aerial data can assist planners, engineers, and municipalities with more informed decisions

Thank you to the Boonsboro Environmental Commission for the opportunity to speak and demonstrate the practical value of drone-derived data beyond just aerial photography.

We are excited to be atttending GeoWeek 2026 in Denver, Colorado this year.

Looking forward to connecting with other professionals and digging into the latest software and hardware pushing the surveying, mapping, and GIS industries forward.

Our focus this year: high-accuracy photogrammetry, advanced LiDAR workflows, and the expanding role of terrestrial handheld LiDAR scanners in integrated data capture.

Big things happening in this space. More to come…

I recently had the chance to fly the new Matrice 400 and L3 sensor and put it through its paces collecting some high density LiDAR and photogrammetry data in the same flight. I was honestly impressed with how clean and detailed the data turned out and wanted to share the flight.

This morning I got a message from Jessica saying that "Blue" had run off around 5:00 PM last night and hadn’t been seen since. She asked if we could help using our thermal drone to try and find him.

After a few quick questions, I loaded up the gear and headed her way. About 30 minutes into the flight, I spotted a suspicious heat signature. I zoomed in, and IT WAS BLUE!!!! He was about 650 yards away through the woods and across a field.

Jessica didn’t hesitate. She put her daughter in a pack on her back, grabbed a leash and treats, brought her son along, and started hiking up the hill through the ice and snow. I kept eyes on Blue from overhead, guiding them with coordinates and talking her in over the phone as she got closer and watching how Blue reacted as they approached.

Blue is now home, warm, and smiling in his bed.
