Forever asking parents to bring their to milestone sessions from now on!

6 month milestones are some of my favorites! It’s one of the only times you get to see their blossoming personality AND the baby rolls 😍

The most precious newborn session hit these proud parents’ inbox yesterday and I just couldn’t help but share a sneak peek. The sweetest little baby who loveddddd being swaddled!

I am taking a handful of September and early early October babies and then my books are getting closed for the holidays!

Here’s my top tip if you have a session coming up:

Bring some bug spray! If you’re good with some more natural options, I’ve got you covered (“scrunchy” mom over here). This is my favorite time of year for outdoor sessions because the flowers are blooming and the grass finally has rich color back in it. But mannnnn those Alabama bugs are a different kind of crazy!

Dusting off the cobwebs on my socials (well sort of).

With the weight of the world feeling so heavy recently, posting has been kind of the last thing on my mind. I've been feeling a tug to be a little more intentional about being where my feet are day to day.

I may not be as active here but I promise I'm still working hard behind the scenes!

Beach season is back and for the third year, I get to capture this precious family! It’s so sweet to watch the number of grandkids multiply each time!

I feel like most moms can relate to this (and if you haven’t had your baby yet, your time is coming). As your pregnancy starts coming to the end and the nursery is just about complete, only missing that sweet little bundle of joy, you find yourself longing to be in that room. Your baby’s nursery is so thoughtfully created! Details of your own interests that you are excited to share with them as they grow, soft blankets and stuffies that you imagine comforting them the first several years of their life, and beautiful pieces of furniture you’ve probably searched high and low for that compliment the room just right all fill your new favorite room of the house. When I was pregnant with my little girl, I remember sitting in her rocking chair to answer emails as our sweet dog, Baily, laid next to me. The room was quiet and filled with so much anticipation as we waited for baby girl’s arrival!

I always love a studio session but this is something a studio can never replicate! If you’re torn between in-home or a studio session, think about your home and your baby’s nursery. If it’s something you’ve poured hours into and you want authentic newborn photos that highlight your hard work and a room that is unfortunately very temporary, maybe an in-home session is for you!

As I sat down to plan for 2026, I knew there were certain things I wanted to do with this corner of mine. Things I wanted to grow, things I wanted to shift, and things I wanted to end. As I began to brainstorm the how and why, I was hit with who.

You.

The mom that values meaningful moments. The dad that wants their children remembered just as they are. The parents that believe their photographs should be printed, held and displayed.

Everything started to transform around those thoughts. I sat in the uncomfortable silence of “who am I” and “what can I offer?”

So here it is.

I’m Alex Ishee. A follower of Jesus first, a wife and mom second, and your photographer third. My mission with this space is to thoughtfully preserve fleeting seasons through timeliness and heartfelt imagery. Intentionality in every single step of the process because each of these steps has a purpose and has been thoughtfully designed and prayed over. Legacy created in the invaluable printed artwork we will create from your session. Trust gained from a calm and specially guided experience for families. Quality over quantity because slowing down and taking less means more care for you.
