I want you to think about the last time you actually touched some grass. 🌱How about the last time you walked barefoot in it? Maybe the last time you touched a tree or felt soil between your fingertips? 🌎

For some of us, this may be a relatively recent or common experience. For some of us, it’s been TOO long. If the latter sounds like you— I invite you this weekend to do something for your soul ☀️:
🥾go out on your own nature walk or hike
🧺have a picnic in the grass
🌳visit a garden/arboretum
🐾take your pet to a trail
🐚go beachcombing
🌊cold plunge in nature
🪴go to a nursery and buy a new plant
🧘🏽♀️meditate/yoga under a tree or in a quiet outdoor spot
🏃🏻♀️take your workout outdoors
🚴♀️go on a bike ride
📖read or journal in the grass

As a wildlife/nature photographer and fly angler, I find myself in direct contact with the elements quite frequently— often wading waist high in water, laying belly-flat on both sand and dirt, climbing rocks and trees, working my way through bushes and leaves. I feel blessed to have a strong connection and sense of grounding; it’s easy for me to recognize when it’s been too long indoors or at work. For me, this manifests as burnout and an overall feeling of disconnect. Connectivity often refers to the relationship we all have with nature, and is one we must build upon for our wellbeing, as both stewards of this planet and animals of this Earth.
