β Jerry L. Aigner, a member of the 1965 Elberfeld Legion Baseball team, sports have always been about more than competition. Throughout his life, he has believed athletics provide one of the greatest opportunities to develop character, leadership, discipline, teamwork, and perseveranceβqualities that shape young people long after their playing days are over.
Born and raised in Warrick County, Jerryβs own life was shaped by local athletics, including his experiences playing American Legion Baseball and other community sports programs. Through those opportunities, he learned firsthand the values of hard work, teamwork, accountability, and respectβlessons that would guide him throughout his life and career.
Jerry began his career as a physical education teacher and coach, where he dedicated himself to helping young people grow both as athletes and as individuals. His focus was never solely on performance, but on teaching the importance of character, effort, and doing your best every day.
After founding Jerry Aigner Construction in 1976, Jerry continued his commitment to youth development through decades of support for local athletic programs and community recreation. Through his generosity, volunteerism, and contributions to parks, ballfields, and athletic facilities, he has helped create opportunities for countless young people to participate in sports and experience the same life lessons that positively influenced his own life.
Through a lifetime of service and leadership, Jerry has demonstrated that the true value of sports lies not in the scoreboards, but in the character they help build and the communities they help strengthen.
