Just launched: Drawdown's Neighborhood: Atlanta! 🎥This year, I've been working as Lead Video Editor on this incredible short documentary series that passes the mic to voices that often go unheard in the climate change activism community. It's been one of the most challenging, inspiring and gratifying projects I've had the opportunity to work on, and I'm so excited to finally get to share it!

My film, A FORGOTTEN PIECE, has been selected for the International Herb Symposium Film Festival! While this is hopefully the first of many, I am over-the-moon excited. It will be screened online June 25-September 25 along with the other selected films.

Can you imagine AMRoCFabLabs like this one in communities all across the country? I think it'll happen.

🌍 Happy ! 🌏

I feel so incredibly fortunate to have witnessed so many amazing places and phenomena on this planet so far, and hope that this is only the beginning. Our planet is changing so quickly though, and some of the places I'd always wanted to see are already gone: ice caves and glaciers, coral reefs and islands.

I've dedicated my life to studying the environment and finding ways to communicate its vitality and importance to others, and as my understanding of environmental issues and climate change has grown over the years, it's become harder and harder to feel hopeful. Not because of the general population, but because of power structures, capitalism, wealth disparity and industries that give most of us little choice but to rely on and participate in systems that destroy our natural resources.

I know you've heard all this before, but Earth Day is a good time to remind ourselves where we can make the most difference: in our votes, our letters to local and state governance, in what we buy and where we shop, where we subscribe, and who we support. Keep recycling and reducing your impact, but more importantly, hold your elected officials accountable and do everything in your power to push our larger systems toward lasting change.

New blog post up, and it's the second-to-last one I'll be posting on my Katmai blog. I've been procrastinating on updating it, because part of me knows that once I've run out of journal entries to post, Alaska will once again feel like a fragment of my past. But the other part of me knows that it already is. Until I go back there again, it exists only in stories and memory.

For now though, I hope you'll enjoy riding alongside me as we fly over the backcountry and take in the views one last time.

I intended to post this as a first quarter update... a while ago. But now here we are well into spring and the second quarter of the year, and things have finally slowed down enough for me to put some attention back into my own page. So, hi! 👋

It's now been 6 months since I officially launched Trail Mixed Media, and I've been amazed by the amount of support and business I've gotten. I expected it to be a slow start, but I've been pretty well booked up since the holidays! I've been honored to work with some truly wonderful clients, and on some very exciting and inspiring projects.

Taking the leap to start my own business last fall was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It took years before I was in a position to be able to do something like this, and I think that makes me cherish it all the more. It is such a gift to be able to fill my days with the kinds of work I love to do the most.

So what's next? My spring/summer schedule is filling up fast, but my books are still open for a few more projects! I'm available for videography, photography, film production, web or graphic design, or similar types of digital media work. If you've been thinking about a creative project you want to do, a video series you want to make, a photo shoot, a web revamp for your business, shoot me a message! And whether or not we end up working together, I've usually got some ideas or resources I can send your way.

I'll try to keep my social media updated more often so I don't need to post short novels like this, but if you read this far, thanks for following and for your support.
