After raising my family, I rediscovered painting as an empty-nester—now joyfully exploring nature, emotion, and everyday whimsy through expressive, vibrant artwork.

I have been obsessed with painting lately. These are a few from my wild animal collection. What’s your favorite?

The Dog Days of Summer. ROCKY addition.

In typical beagle fashion, this boy loved to let the neighborhood know he was there. His sweet voice wafted through the air…

Dog Days of Summer. Bella addition.

She was our girl. She loved squirrel chasing, Kong treats, her Christmas stocking, bubble wrap, salt air, and unwrapping gifts. But most of all, she loved us, and we loved her.

Acrylic on Canvas. Circa 2015. Private collection.

“Liberty” 🗽

Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸America🇺🇸 !!!

A lot of immigrants came to the United States through Ellis Island, viewing The Statue of Liberty on the way to be processed into our country. One of those was my grandma “Bushia” who came here in 1908, from Poland, at 19 years of age. Alone. She was never able to go back to Poland, but raised a family of 3 in NE Minneapolis doing whatever she could to provide for her family. Those 3 kids gave her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren and counting. Each generation building on her stepping work ethic and believing in the freedom our country fought for. (She died before my first birthday, so I only got to know her through stories my family shares.)

Her name is engraved on the walls at the base of The Statue of Liberty, like so many others that have come to the land of promise.

Thank you, founders of our country, for seeing a vision of a country that made her leave all that she knew, and start anew.

Happy 250th birthday, America!🇺🇸🧁🎈
