I was honored to learn that I have been recognized by the NOIR Club of Black and White Photography and awarded their Master of Excellence of Photography.
My photograph has also been published in NOIR International Photo Magazine — Spring 2026, Year 5, Issue #2.

Black and white photography has such a powerful way of highlighting light, shadow, mood, and emotion, and I am truly grateful to have my work included and recognized by NOIR.

Thank you to the NOIR Team and Curators for this meaningful honor.

“Reflections on Lake Crescent Olympic National Park BW”

Tucked deep within Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent rests quietly between the forested slopes of the Olympic Mountains. Formed by ancient glaciers, this crystal-clear lake is known for its remarkable depth, stillness, and mirror-like reflections.

When this magnificent scene came into view, we quickly pulled into the rest area, my daughter and I grabbed our cameras and carefully worked our way along the railing watching out for vehicles coming around the mountain. We needed to get this image.

The surrounding evergreens and distant mountain peaks seem to dissolve into the water, creating a scene that feels both grounding and expansive. This photograph captures that fleeting moment when light softens, the lake goes still, and nature invites you to pause and breathe. The chilly Pacific Northwest air was a breath of fresh air too.

Thank you to the person from Englewood, Florida who bought a box of 10 "Rainbow Beach" greeting cards from my website. I hope you enjoy them.

I named this photo “Rainbow Beach” because of its vibrant colors. The Manasota Beach sunset seems to have borrowed its colors from a rainbow. The sky is a canvas of vibrant hues enhanced by the Sahara dust storms in the air over the Gulf Coast. These dust storms bring unique, colorful clouds that reflect their beauty into the aqua waters below.

Normally when the sun is low in the sky, the shorter wavelength blue, purple, and green colors are scattered. The longer orange, pink and red wavelengths are seen. The tiny Sahara dust in the atmosphere blocks some of the sunlight, but also reflects the sunlight scattering the colors even more creating more vivid reds, oranges, pinks, yellows and purples.

I live close to Manasota Beach in Englewood, Florida. I often look to the sky close to sunset. If the cloud formations look interesting, I know Ill get interesting photos. So I head to the beach. This evening was like hitting jackpot! What an amazing sky! This has been one of my most popular award-winning photos.
