I am an amateur photographer and travel/history enthusiast from Florida. My love of photography began in 2005 with the purchase of my first digital camera. Shortly afterwards, I started an online web gallery to share the photos with friends and family. Since then, the interest in my photography has grown and so has my topics. By 2009, the site expanded to the travel site "Around the World in Pictu

res", a collection of photos from the places I have visited along with the stories behind them. Then in 2011, the site expanded once again with the addition of two new pages "Above the Clouds" and "Touch Em All". The latest expansion was as a result of the demand for my aircraft and baseball photography. What has started as a way to share photos to friends and family has grown to an internet collection of over 12,000 photos nearing 1 million visitors. I am not a professional nor do I make money off the photos or stories. It is simply a project of mine to help get the photos out there for everyone to enjoy. I really hope you enjoy the site and much as I enjoy bringing it to you. If you enjoy the work, remember to follow us on Facebook, Twitter or by email to be notified when new content is added. Also feel free to comment or add you own personal experiences from your visits. If you have any question or comments, e-mail me at [email protected].

Stepping onto the grounds of Ca’ d’Zan feels like walking into another world—one shaped by beauty, ambition, and a longing for something greater. Overlooking Sarasota Bay, this Venetian-inspired mansion reflects not just the legacy of the Ringlings, but the human desire to create something lasting.

As I wandered its terraces and stood where the water meets the sky, I was reminded that even the grandest earthly treasures are fleeting. Yet moments like these—filled with awe, reflection, and quiet peace—point us toward something eternal.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17

In the stillness of this place, I found that freedom isn’t in what we build or possess, but in who we trust. The beauty of Ca’ d’Zan may capture your eyes—but it’s God’s presence that captures the heart.

Sometimes the most meaningful journeys aren’t the longest—they’re the ones where we finally slow down enough to listen.

Just behind the Sugarlands Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountains, the short walk along Fighting Creek Trail leads to Cataract Falls—a quiet, hidden cascade tucked into the forest. It’s an easy, peaceful path, with the sound of the creek guiding you every step of the way.

Standing at the falls, watching the water flow steadily over the rocks, I was reminded of this truth:

“He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:2–3

You don’t have to hike miles into the wilderness to experience God’s presence. Sometimes, it’s found on the simplest paths… just waiting for us to notice.

There’s something special about stepping into Cades Cove in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains—where time slows down and creation speaks for itself. 🌄

Surrounded by towering ridges and open fields, this peaceful valley invites you to take the long way around. The 11-mile loop winds past historic cabins, churches, and barns that quietly tell the story of those who lived here with faith, simplicity, and a deep connection to the land.

Wildlife moves freely through the cove—deer grazing in the fields, wild turkeys crossing the road, and if you’re lucky, even a black bear along the tree line. It’s a reminder of the beauty and balance found in God’s creation.

For those willing to venture a little farther, Rich Mountain Road offers a quieter path. This narrow, winding drive climbs into the forest and opens up to breathtaking views overlooking the cove below. It’s peaceful, reflective, and far removed from the crowds—a place where silence feels meaningful.

Whether you’re watching the morning fog lift off the valley or catching golden light at sunset, Cades Cove isn’t just a place you visit—it’s a place you feel.

There’s something special about slowing down in the heart of Crossville—where history isn’t just remembered, it’s lived out along every sidewalk and storefront.

Wandering through historic downtown, you’ll find charming local shops, classic brick buildings, and that unmistakable small-town warmth that makes you feel like you belong. It’s the kind of place where stories linger in the air, where neighbors still greet each other by name, and where the pace invites you to pause and reflect.

As I walked these streets, I couldn’t help but be reminded of how God’s presence is often found in the quiet, the simple, and the overlooked. In places like this, you’re given space to breathe, to notice, and to give thanks for the journey.

If your travels ever bring you through Cumberland County, take the time to explore downtown Crossville. You might come for the history—but you’ll leave with something deeper.
