I remembered to take off my solar filter this time.
This composite captures what the sun looks like during a partial eclipse, the diamond ring phase, Bailey's Beads, totality, and then everything in reverse, with an incredibly red sun at the end because it was so close to the horizon.
You can really see how this eclipse flirted with clouds. The top of this cloud I'd been eyeing for a half hour had a U-shape. The first diamond ring, the sun entered the U from the right, stayed in the clearing for 2 minutes of totality, and then the left side of the U swallowed the sun for 20 minutes.
So, so lucky to get these. I'd take clear skies any day, but I love the atmosphere they add.
