Mutual Aid Training last night… 🚒

Middletown Fire came out to Londonderry Fire’s station to run through some Engine training.

It’s good watching the Jr. FF’s be exposed to other methods/practices; I love getting to see the growth!

And don’t mind the couple blurry pics while I was laughing… it’s always funny when someone accidentally gets sprayed and it’s not yourself. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

The day started out a little rough… As Engine-1 was filling the dunk tank for the Londonderry May Fair, it decided to take the weekend off. 🎟️

The Juniors got to work & helped push E-1 out of the way before Cockers Towing came to haul it off for repairs. 🔧🪛

But then! The mood improved and you could see how much these guys love sharing what they do with the kids of the community. 🥹

They handed out goody bags, gave tours of the Tanker & Engine and helped some kids don their fire gear. 👩🏻‍🚒👩🏾‍🚒

Wednesday Nights = Training Nights 🚒🚨

They headed out to review and practice hooking up to a hydrant. 💧

For a couple of these guys it was a brand new skill... a first time to even see it being done. And for a person who's only ever watched it be done (and probably couldn't even do it myself) I think they did pretty well! 👏

Plus... my Captain husband and Jr FF son teaching the new guys how it's done just meant I was more invested in snapping the pics. 📸🤷🏻‍♀️😊

Masklophobia: the intense, irrational fear of masks, costumed characters, or mascots.

I have that. And these guys (and gal) know that. So, needless to say, they enjoyed it as I snapped a couple pictures of them with the Harrisburg Senators Mascot, Rascal, today at LAA's opening day at Sunset Park.

It’s been a minute (or a couple of months since I’ve posted anything). But, holidays, a career shift, moving children, pets passing away, chronic illness… you know - life, or whatever… 🗓️ 📈🎗️

So tonight, a bit of an impromptu training was showing some of the younger members the basics of responding to a call where there could be possible spinal cord injuries, cardiac arrest, breathing problems, etc. ⛑️🚒🚑

They might have had a little bit of fun with it too based on the smiles some of these guys had. 💪🏻 🤣

Hummelstown Halloween Parade… snapping pics as a proud mom to two of my kids & an “adopted son” and other probationary firefighters I’d call my kids if they weren’t all adults who are taller than me 😑🙄😆
