THANK YOU (plus a little more)!

I wanted to take this Sunday to reflect on how grateful I am for the past few months. What a wonderful time it has been taking photos of precious moments, events, and new beginnings for so many people! I am blown away with the support I’ve received since starting this photography business.

Since this past summer, I have learned so much about the trade and the generosity people have shown me as I’ve built my photography portfolio has been amazing.

That being said, I am taking a break from any new bookings right now so I can refocus on my work and my family as the holidays draw closer. It’s not forever! I also hope to continue learning over the break so I can provide the best product possible once I return.

Your patience is much appreciated, and I will never take the support for granted. Thank you for coming along this journey with me!

This past Saturday, I had the privilege of shooting Brown-Pusey House's fundraising gala with the goal of raising money for a handicap-accessible restroom at the historic home. My oh my, the glamour and fashion did not disappoint! 😍

From the red carpet to the auction to the dance floor, this was the place to BE! Thank you to LeAnne Perkins for allowing me to be a part of this amazing event. What a night!

"Pitching is the art of instilling fear." -Sandy Koufax

Back in May, I had the privilege of taking some photos of this young man during the Regional Baseball Tournament. Being a senior, he pitched and hit like it was his last game because it very well could have been. Thankfully, he was given another game after this one, but what an honor it was to grab these photos that he and his family can keep now that he has graduated! ⚾️

"No one cared who I was until I put on the mask." -The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Last night, my husband, Zak, had the privilege of umpiring the plate in the KHSAA 5th Region Baseball Championship game. While many parents and friends were taking photos of their players, I was taking photos of the umpire behind the plate.

A thankless but necessary job, Zak and his fellow umpires go into their games knowing they have no fans in the crowd. However, they do it anyway. After working full days at their job, they travel near and far while missing time with their families to support our youth in their sports dreams. Without them, the game we love couldn't be played.

So in honor of the forgotten few, I dedicate this first post to the men in black (and occasionally, blue). It's not easy, but someone has to do it. ⚾️
