Tonight I got to check out a totally different side of the local business scene at the Monroe Chamber Business After 5 hosted by Alter Metal Recycling.

I will be completely honest. I had no idea the sheer scale of what goes on here let alone that we had an operation like this right here in Monroe. From massive machinery to the incredible textures of thousands of bottle caps and skyscrapers of crushed aluminum it is a photographer dream. Their main goal is keeping reusable materials out of landfills and giving old metal a completely new life. Plus depending on what you bring in to recycle you might even make some money in the process. Time to finally clean out the garage.

“The scoreboard tells you who won. The camera tells you why it mattered.”

Three days.

Roughly 20+ miles walked.

Twenty-plus hours on my feet.

A healthy amount of sunscreen regret.

And thousands of frames chasing moments across TPC Wisconsin.

What started Friday as another assignment slowly turned into a story.

Not just about golf, but about partnership.

About trust.

About two guys trying to do something difficult together.

By Sunday afternoon, Darren Clarke and Ben Crane were standing over one last putt with a chance to defend their title at the American Family Insurance Championship.

The longer I do this, the less interested I become in the score.

I’m more interested in the things happening around it.

The light.

The emotion.

The geometry.

The way a crowd gathers around a green.

The characters that make an event feel alive.

The moments between the moments.

Day two at the American Family Insurance Championship was hot, crowded, and full of those little stories that most people walk right past.

Somewhere between the legends, the galleries, and an unexpected Jordan Love sighting, I found a few frames that reminded me why I love photography in the first place.

Nine holes. Four Wisconsin legends. Countless smiles. ⛳️

Olympic gold medalist Caroline “KK” Harvey, Packers greats Donald Driver and Jordy Nelson, and tournament host Andy North brought plenty of star power to Day 2 of the American Family Insurance Championship.

The golf was fun.

The smiles were better.

Last year I showed up to the American Family Insurance Championship trying to figure out how to photograph professional golf.

This year I showed up with a plan.

Day one at TPC Wisconsin in Madison was my first assignment for ISI Photos, and it felt like a milestone I’ve been working toward for a long time.

I spent most of the day following Steve Stricker and Mario Tiziani, including some great moments with Steve’s daughter, Bobbi, on the bag. Golf is a game of details, relationships, patience, and timing…and those stories are often just as interesting as what happens on the scorecard.

A year ago I was learning the ropes.

A grueling, beautiful hour of absolute intensity.

Last night marked another first for me behind the lens: capturing a Black Belt test at Elite Tae Kwon Do in Monroe, Wisconsin.

I managed to sneak in early to catch the quiet before the storm, documenting the two candidates warming up and mentally preparing in the basement. The contrast between that silent, focused preparation and the explosive, hour-long test that followed was incredible to witness. This wasn’t just a physical challenge; it was a complete mental and emotional gauntlet. From precision weapon forms and gravity-defying jumps to shattering boards, these two left absolutely everything on the mat.

A massive congratulations to Monroe’s newest black belts. You earned every single thread of them last night. But as their Master reminded everyone at the end of the night…the belt isn’t a destination. It’s simply the indicator that you are ready for the next stage of an ongoing journey with no real end. 🥋🔥👊📸

I’ve always wondered why we don’t see more iconic, heavy-hitting Wisconsin brand collaborations. Well, it looks like that is about to change...

After grinding through a non-stop, three-day championship track shoot, I finally let the heavy professional rigs take a well-deserved break. For today’s family outing, I went full “dad camera” mode, packing nothing but a little pocket rocket to snap the day.

We rolled up to the Muskellounge in Madison and ran right into the Duluth Trading Co. “Bigger Dam Van” teasing a brand-new, unreleased collaboration collection with Old Milwaukee.

It didn’t hurt that the Muskellounge completely nailed the backdrop, either. It’s an epic, high-vibe spot that effortlessly balances premium tavern culture with a layout that’s real fun for the kids, too.

Championship Saturday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championships was an absolute gauntlet. While our call time gave us a welcome extra hour of sleep, it was a non-stop hustle from the very first field event final until the last team trophies were presented at 6 PM. What made this marathon weekend seamless was operating alongside an incredible three-man photography crew. We pivoted, anticipated, and split duties like a veteran team that had worked together for years. We walked onto the complex on day one as total strangers and walked away on day three as close friends and dream-team colleagues.

The final day threw absolutely everything at us both on the track and from the sky. We covered the full spectrum of emotional highs and physical limits, shooting field event finals, handoffs, and photo-finish sprints. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin weather kept us on our toes, shifting rapidly from heavy overcast to blinding sun, followed by a sudden downpour and winds strong enough to blow our hats across the infield. Every single photographer on the turf ran their own version of a sprint this weekend, fighting through the physical fatigue to match the elite energy of the athletes.

In the end, the storybook finish took care of itself on the track. The host team of UW-La Crosse delivered an unforgettable performance in front of their home crowd, coming up massive to sweep the national team trophies for both the men’s and women’s titles. Watching that raw, hometown celebration cap off a grueling three-day assignment made every single step worth it. One final set to lock in a legendary championship weekend. 🏆🏃‍♂️⛈️📸

Day 2 of the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in La Crosse is officially in the books, and it was an absolute marathon. Spent the bulk of the day locked in on the decathlon guys, tracking the sheer grit it takes to survive the multi-event grind. The pace was so relentless that I actually managed a minor miracle: an early lunch at 2 PM instead of my usual 4 PM starvation window. 😮‍💨😜

Aside from tracking the leaderboard, today was all about “harvesting” those killer in-between frames. The split-second moments of raw exhaustion, the heavy emotion, and the quiet reset between attempts are where the real stories live.

It has also been a massive privilege to share the trenches as part of a three-man media team this weekend. Two days down, one to go. Finals Saturday is going to be completely jam-packed. Time to rest the feet and get ready for the chaos. 📸🏃‍♂️⚡

Up at 4:30 AM, out the door by 4:50 AM, and finally sitting down to look at the glass at 11:26 PM. Day 1 of the NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships in La Crosse was a beautiful, non-stop grind.

Sprinting between events meant meeting a ton of awesome people and chasing an incredibly fast pace all day. Shooting for clients always requires banking the “safe” shots first, which is a necessary balancing act. To keep my creative sanity, I went rogue in between the official sets to focus on motion, tight details, and the raw energy of the track.

These frames are a few of my absolute favorite personal captures from the opening rounds. Time to get a few hours of sleep and do it all over again tomorrow. 🏃‍♂️💨📸
