Friday night lights are officially back, and history was made in Monroe.
The Cheesemakers took the field for the first-ever regular season home game at the brand-new Badger State Ethanol Stadium. (Huge lightning upgrade ππ«‘)
Having 2/3 of the Second Crop kiddos on the sidelines with me to take in the packed stands, the crisp dusk sky, and the roar of the hometown crowd made it an incredible night to kick off the fall season.
I will be the first to admit I was a little rusty on the sidelines for week one. I left a few snaps on the turf that I wish I had back, but we still managed to pull in a solid harvest of hits, breakaways, and pure gridiron effort. Oregon took the opener 27-14, but Monroe battled hard every single quarter.
The full game gallery is dropping on the site this weekend, along with all the pre-game festivities.
New for this season on the Second Crop website: I am tagging and captioning every single photo with player names. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of photos to find your athlete, you will be able to type their name right into the search bar and instantly see only their photos.
Swipe through to see the first look at action under the new lights!
