A true bucket-list moment.

Seeing the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, Big Boy 4014, cross one of New York’s most iconic railroad bridges was an unforgettable experience. As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States, I feel fortunate to have captured this historic moment.

The sound of its whistle echoes through the gorge, the rumble vibrates through your body, and for a moment, you can truly feel history come alive.

This is one photograph I’ll definitely be printing and displaying. 🇺🇸🚂

The highlight and the real reason for the trip out west.

Two years ago, my Uncle, Tom passed away and left behind his 1978 Corvette Pace Car Edition.

I only got to visit Tom for the first time four years ago, but it didn’t take long to see who he was. He was always chasing the next adventure, loved being outdoors, and traveled wherever life took him.

When it came time to bring the Corvette home, we decided not to ship it. Instead, we made a journey out of it. One I think Tom would have appreciated.

Nine days.
Over 70 hours of driving.
Across nine states.
A weekend in Colorado with close friends.
Two days exploring Moab, revisiting places Tom had taken me just four years earlier.

I don’t think he would have wanted us to do it any other way. Life is about the adventure.

Now the next chapter begins.

The Corvette definitely has some stories to tell. After years of sitting, a mouse had made the interior its home, so the old carpet is already coming out. Thankfully, there doesn’t appear to be any major wiring damage. It needs plenty of work, but that’s part of the adventure. Every repair is an opportunity to learn with friends, and every mile it drives again will make the effort worthwhile.

One day, will be behind the wheel of the same car my uncle once drove.

I think he’d smile knowing it’s headed back to the road and staying in the family.
