Editing pics from the other days family shoot on the water and oh. My. God. These RAWs are soooo cute!! I can’t wait to get them back to her!! It took a while for her littlest one to warm up and give us some smiles but it was SOOO worth the wait!! 🤩

Also realizing and am wayyy past due on updating my portfolio here. Everything I’ve done this year is on my private online gallery where my clients can download from😅🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t even charge that much but by the end of my sessions I’m lucky to be making $10-15 hr after costs/expenses and time spent editing everything BY HAND!! 😅

People see “$550 photoshoot” and think photographers pocket $550 dollars. 🤯

Here’s a realistic breakdown of where that actually goes 👇

Client pays: $550

• Put away 25% for taxes
$550 → $412.50

• Payment processing / transaction fee
$412.50 → $395.55

• SD cards (1–2 cards for a session, average cost)
~$65–$130
$395.55 → $330.55–$265.55

• Monthly business expenses split across sessions
(storage, gallery delivery, website, subscriptions, editing software, etc.)
~$50
$330.55–$265.55 → $280.55–$215.55

• Gas + travel to and from session
~$20–$40+ depending on location
$280.55–$215.55 → $260.55–$175.55

And that’s before:

• equipment upgrades/repairs 🛠
• camera bodies + lenses 📷
• computer + hard drives 💾
• insurance ✔️
• props/client closet 👗
• education 📚
• advertising 📢
• time spent shooting 🕑
• hours of editing 💻
• emailing, planning, culling, delivering galleries, bookkeeping, & a dozen other payless hours 💸

Photography is a business, not just “showing up and taking pictures.” I appreciate those who know the iceberg of backwork that goes on behind the scenes. ❤️🫶

I know a lot of us parents don’t feel comfortable going through LifeTouch for photos in light of all the information surfacing and I want to do my part to help parents still get affordable photos done! The finished pictures will be yours to go get printed out OR for a processing fee (mostly just to cover the expenses of printing itself) I can do it for you to take that stress off your plate🫶🏻

I am hosting these in Queen Anne MD on February 1st starting at 11am. Both photos were taken by me💕

Asking $25 for a deposit up front and other $25 due day of shoot. These will be 25 min sessions and you will get 8-10 edited photos back! These will be done on a beautiful bridge (showed in last photo in comments. That one was just taken on my phone while scouting the area)

Offering bo***ir sessions available for private booking as well. I will have a room divider if you want to do them outdoors with more privacy

I know scammers have gotten smart but geeeeez not this one. I’ve gotten 3 of them in the last month trying to book a shoot and then they “have problems with payment” and need more info. A quick google search of the image can help so much for those who don’t know. This was the one I got after they already asked for my phone number and I denied giving it. Then they said Venmo needed an email in order to complete the transaction bc theirs was a business account 😂
