THE FANNINGS 🍾⛰️🌸🕺

This was my first wedding of the summer season and let me just say…days like this really remind me why this is my dream job.

Beyond getting pretty photos with incredible views, capturing the uninhibited joy between Bella, Jakob, and their people was so life giving and inspiring. I 🤍 photographing people in love, especially when they’re fully present and having FUN like these two were.

Just scroll through these and I guarantee that by the end you’ll have the widest smile on your face. That’s just the kind of energy this couple brought and I’m so thankful to have been there!!

(Fav parts included Bella running toward Jakob with pure excitement for their first look, the sweetest emotional moments with their parents, blow up pink ponies on the dance floor, them setting up their tent and camping that night, and a private last dance) 🥹

Okay but imagine riding the ski lift with your girls up to almost 10,000 feet, marrying your person on top of the mountain surrounded by all your favorite people, and riding back down with your partner MARRIED?? Truly a dream ⛰️

Some of my favorite frames in black and white from this past wedding season 🤍

I’m drawn to the simplicity of a black and white image and the way it can enhance delicate details, subtle expressions, intertwined hands. By removing color, I feel like I’m able to extract the innately human qualities of what’s in frame.

Something happens when color is stripped away- landscapes can seem grander, emotions heightened, and shapes more purposeful. Sometimes what a photo needs to truly feel like the moment is less distraction, like putting a magnifying glass to what was important.

I’ll always love a gallery full of vibrant, colorful images, but also find myself coming back to these simpler moments that speak volumes.

With me, you can always expect your gallery to be color-accurate, with some carefully selected monochrome shots like these intertwined 🫶🏻

What if your engagement shoot was just running around the local plant nursery and looking at blooms together? 🌼🌹🌱

This whole evening felt like Olivia + Evan were on the most wholesome spring date and I was just one of their friends there to capture the memories 🥹

We had one of the trusty nursery employees (my husband) hold up one of the hose sprinklers for them to play in at the end and it was THE BEST.

There’s nothing quite like watching the sun go down over the desert with your love, knowing tomorrow is going to be one of the best days of your whole life.

I’ve been going through all my galleries from last year to update my website with new photos, and realized I never shared these dreamy engagements from the fall. There is something about that makes a shoot feel so peaceful and grounded. It’s like a deep breath of fresh air, every time 🍂

Finished up this one last week and was cheesing the whole time while editing. So many smiles between guests and sweet little wholesome moments with Caroline + Dawson.

The best part was getting to the end of the gallery and remembering the impromptu spoon balancing competition during the dance party. In my experience, the photos that end up mattering the most to you of your wedding day are never what you expect- it’s the ones that cement a moment in time that might have been forgotten otherwise. Like your grandma balancing a spoon on her nose at the end of the night 🥹
