Tried a new restaurant, known for their breakfast and lunch. It did NOT disappoint! Great food, and the service was excellent! Crystal was outstanding! She let us take her pix! In the area or vacationing? Check this place out, and the view is fantastic!

Though the seaweed chased us away early, we still found over 300 sharks teeth and a TON of dugong bone fragments! And whale bones. And stingray mouth plates. And horse teeth. And burrfish plates!

We went caving in Florida… yep, Florida!

Tucked away in the Withlacoochee State Forest, Dames Caves are a hidden little adventure most people don’t even realize exists. These limestone caves were formed over time as groundwater carved out pockets and passageways, not massive caverns, but tight, twisting spaces that make you feel like a true explorer.

Finding them is part of the fun, they’re located in the Citrus Tract area, and it takes a little exploring to track them down (which honestly makes it even better). Once you’re there, you’ll find several openings, crawl spaces, and crevices just waiting to be checked out.

Now… we’ll be honest, there were a few deeper drops and tight spots that had us thinking, “yeah… we might need some real cave gear for that one!” 😅 They looked incredible, but a little beyond our comfort level without ropes and proper equipment.

That said, there’s still plenty to explore for beginner cavers, and it made for a super fun and unique day out with friends. Definitely one of those “you didn’t know this was in Florida” kind of adventures!

👉 Would you try caving in Florida?
👉 Or are you sticking to beaches and sunshine? 😄
