This is a series to show off why it's okay to take a wrong turn and get a little lost. 🫶✨

I started off the morning leaving Duluth in the wee hours of the morning. I have had a bee in my bonet about getting a pretty sunrise shot at this overlook for a print and non so far have quite hit the mark for me.

But of course this morning the crazy light with the fog made for some early morning magic.

After sunrise my next mission was to go pick up maple syrup and caramels from Michael Baker, but instead of typing in directions I decided to go off memory.

My memory was wrong and I missed the turn. 🤷‍♀️

but I ended here, in this beautiful place that I had never been to before.

that’s all (-:

this light was crazy and it was the best morning.

did eventually make it here & zero caramels survived being in a car with me all the way back to Duluth.

Happy fall from Northern Minnesota ✨🍁 these were taken this past Friday in Lutsen, Minnesota. The maples are starting to pop and soon rest of the trees will follow.

For these views I hiked the Mystery Mountain loop (name on AllTrails) but did an out and back since I was solo and a little short on time.

Actually so wild how little people were there!!

But here are some tips if you’re hoping to make your way to the top of Moose Mountain for some fall foliage!!

Go on a weekday if you’re planning on taking the gondola up and buy your tickets ahead of time online!

If you like hiking and are able to, I would definitely recommend just hiking to the top. The hike is gorgeous, you can make it to the overlook for sunrise or sunset, move a lot more at your pace and skip the crowds by going at an off time!
