Shooting Kate's pictures reminded me all over again how grateful I am to live in this gorgeous area I call home.

Where else can you shoot at a foggy lake, 2000-year-old rocks, a sunflower field, and a field of sunny Queen Anne's lace — all within 10 minutes of home?

Kate, your beauty would shine anywhere, but I'm so thrilled you got to share it with me in the place I love. Can't wait to see all that you accomplish, sweet girl!

Lori was my first friend when my family moved to Troutville from Pittsburgh (and THAT is a great culture shock story!).
Not only did Lori and I find friendship, but our families did too. We spent holidays together and ordinary days together.

And to top off our friendship gift, our boys even became very close friends. That means so many of my precious life memories have Lori, Mike, and her family in them.

I love these people so much. To be behind the camera and capture all of she and Mike's joys made my heart burst.

Love you much, Dilullo and Fickes families (and Vanchure family, you get in there now too!).
I look forward to watching your love and family grow even more throughout the years.

I once read that a photograph is the pause button of life.
I've seen that play out so many times — camera in my hand, and a memory settling into my heart.
This session was exactly that.

My dear high school friend Eliza —
Over the years I've visited her and her family in Erie, both to capture photos and to visit.
Last week, Eliza and her daughter Kate drove in for Kate's senior photos.
My heart was so full of memories of our shoots and times together...
And then this:

Fall sessions are officially open!

This is one of my favorite times of year to shoot.
The light is warm, the colors are gorgeous, and there's just something about fall that makes everything crisp and special.
I'd love to capture that with you.

We had 12 hours' notice to make a plan.
All it needed to be was dresses, a hotel confirmation (they traveled from Erie), locations that felt like Kate, and images that portrayed the unique spirit that Kate is.

First morning light left us with a fog that we could hardly see through.
But that fog was pure magic.
We watched the sun break through, the colors came alive.

I know it looks like these were edited to look like paintings.
Yes, the photos were retouched minimally— as I always do with my images — but what you see in these portraits is ALL REAL.

The fog, the colors, and Kate's personality -
simply and beautifully herself.

Again - authenticity and magic.
So grateful to do what I love for people that mean so much!
Many many more to come!

The Fortunato family has been in front of my camera for too many years to count.

What started out as a friendship many years ago has blossomed into extended family friendships and moments I've been blessed to capture.
Cousin photos, senior photos, weddings, so many newborn babies, and more family photos.

And while I feel so honored and blessed to be called to capture these times, it's the friendships and relationships that have blossomed over the years that mean the most to me.

Fortunato family, thank you for the gift of each of you and the honor you give me to capture these precious times.
Every single one of you is so special!

Sophia knew what she wanted.

She had a Pinterest board and a vision.
We talked on the phone, we texted, and I shared my idea-
sunrise on a beach.
We added a 1962 film vibe, and all of a sudden, a laid-back, charismatic Clearfield sweetheart becomes all California.:)

First morning light changes so quickly and so beautifully that we got SO MANY incredible shots.

I love a classic look.
I love gorgeous portraits.
But what I love most is authenticity, originality, and making a dream come to life.
