Run the numbers before you chase the hustle. 🧮

4 shoots a week at 500 each sounds great. That’s 8,000 a month. But that’s 16 shoots, half your month hauling gear and breaking it down, just to do it all again next month.

Meanwhile there are people doing one shoot and making more than that whole grind. That’s the difference between working hard and working smart!

Doing what others won’t is the whole edge. 📸

I figured out a simple tethering setup where my camera prints on demand the second I click the button. A photographer saw it running at an event and told me they had been trying to crack that for 8 to 12 years.

When you lock in and do what others aren’t doing, you stand apart. I didn’t just show up with a camera. I brought the printer, the tethering, the lights, the whole setup. It takes longer, and you price that in. But that is what makes you the professional.

You are the asset. 🎯

When you come to someone for help, you can’t expect the favor back. But when they do come to you, don’t act brand new like you don’t know what’s going on.

We all have our own dreams, goals, and personal stuff going on, I get that. But if you’re willing to take someone’s time, energy, and money, you better be ready to give that exact same effort back.

And never let anybody trick you out of your worth. That camera in your hand, the skills and the thoughts in your brain, that is you. You are the asset. Stop giving that away.

Give the same energy you take. And protect your worth.

Relationships are the real currency. 🤝

For a long time I thought business was just landing the client and delivering the service. But it goes deeper than that. Real relationships open doors that straight up asking never will.

When people see you taking action, they show up for you. The people you build with over time save you time, save you money, and help you grow.

Stop treating business like a transaction. Build the relationships.

Revenue is not profit. 💰

Just because your business made money does not mean it is all yours to pocket. That shopping spree money? It still has to cover your overhead first. Bills, employees, expenses, all of it. If every dollar a client pays you goes right back into keeping the business running, you are not actually profiting.

And once you do have real profit, don’t just pocket it. Reinvest it into marketing, sales, whatever brings more people in. That is how the profit grows bigger next time, and how the cut coming off the top gets smaller.

Know your numbers. Reinvest. Grow.

Most creators don’t fail because they lack talent.

They fail because they’re trying to figure everything out alone.

When I first started, there wasn’t much community. Everybody wanted to be the CEO, run the agency, or sell the dream. Very few people were focused on actually helping creators grow.
