Sean Daly has been expressing his artistry as a custom painter and fabricator in the Lowrider world for decades. He has collaborated with many car owners, from New Mexico and beyond, to create one-of-a-kind works of art. In my most recent short film, we take a more intimate look at one of his recent builds, Joe Romero’s 1957 ā€œMonkey Businessā€, and hear a bit of Sean’s lowrider story. If you love New Mexico and/or car culture, you will LOVE this piece. šŸ™šŸ½ Please share this story with your familia and friends! This is the first of many car culture films I hope to create. See the full length story on my YT channel and thanks for watching!

Spent the morning hanging out with , hearing some of his Lowrider story and about his passion to build cars. He walked me through a few of his Lowrider builds and showed me some of the stuff he has in the works. Hustling to put this short film out very quickly!

Two entire floors of one of the largest convention centers in the nation were packed with some of the most amazing Lowriders and classic cars you could imagine. I didn’t know where to start. Pretty sure I only saw maybe half the cars that were there. Here’s a combination plate for you of 5 or 6 Lowriders that I loved.

This is my abuelita. My grandmother. Her name is Eva Duran. For over a decade I have been telling the stories of others. Stories for others. That has been very rewarding and I have met incredible people and heard incredible stories doing so. But. What is deeply true is that I come from a familia with incredible stories of our own. Tragic stories… but also beautiful and unbelievable stories. Maybe that’s true of all of us. My grandma Eva was born in a very small village in northern New Mexico in 1950. She is at least a 13th generation New Mexican and I can trace her line back more than 20 generations. I will share my findings of her ancestry (which is also mine šŸ™šŸ½) in this film. This film is a celebration of my grandmother and my way to honor her life and legacy. She will share some of her life story with you and the events that shaped her life. Though this film is very personal to me and my familia, I have a feeling the story will resonate with many of you who also have close relationships with your abuelitas. It won’t be done until 2026 but I am so excited about this I had to share a short preview.

Ruben Arreguin’s 1959 El Camino ā€œEl Diabloā€. WOW!! 🤯 In my research of this lowrider, it’s been around for a while (at least 13 years) and has gone through several modifications but has kept its main theme and color. Amazing build!

ā€œEl Penalā€ was super bright and easy to spot from across the convention center. I appreciated that the owner didn’t have it caged in or fenced off. He/she let us get a close look. Seeing all the metalwork up close was unbelievable. The murals, the paint… Incredible.

When I started asking folks deep in New Mexico’s car culture scene who I should interview for my upcoming Lowrider film series, one of the names that kept coming up was Rob Vanderslice. As I delved deeper into my research spanning the last 4 decades of car culture in Albuquerque and EspaƱola, I began to see that is truly a legend in this community. His Lowrider art has been featured in numerous car magazines over the last 4 decades and his name and work are VERY well-known. I was honored to sit down with Rob and capture a mesmerizing interview in which we discussed his upbringing, his art, his family, the darkness he’s battled and overcome, and Lowriders. I expect Rob’s story to debut in the summer of ā€˜26 as we have some content to capture but this story will draw you in. This man has a story worth telling and it will absolutely inspire you. I’ll share a snippet of the interview soon! Until then, here’s a still from the interview.

In the first episode of this series, we watch Juan work a challenging piece of water with a client. Frustration eventually leads to triumph and to some nice fish in the bag. Here are the first 30 seconds of the episode. See the story in its entirety on YT channel. A sincere thanks to and for supporting the distribution of the first episode of ā€œThe BU$Y Guideā€! šŸ™šŸ½
