Old Town Lansing was ALIVE last night! Massive thanks to the Community Foundation for the investment and elevation of whats bound to be a special place! I watched this project take shape over the years starting with the Dam Jam events with Lansing 5:01 and now to a proper venue with Lansing Riverfronts Fish Ladder Music Park. I was super thankful to be behind the lens last night to document.

When the City Pulse reached out about a feature on "LansingHenge" photography I was so pumped. I certainly did'nt invient Henge photography. I think Chicago might claim that but after experiencing it there I had to bring it back to Lansing. It started with just me on a parking deck but within a couple years we had almost 60 photographers at one LansingHenge meetup. We kinda made that parking deck photo famous in the process. My high school wrestling coach always said "The fun is in the memories" and I had so much fun thinking back on my first ChiHenge and then all our LansingHenge gatherings after.

In 2016 I was chasing every exciting shot I could. Traveling the country with a camera in hand. I had a list, and being a midwesterner, going to Chicago, during the Spring equinox was right at the …

Working with the team at Lansing 5:01 on their yearly event Lansing 501 dam jam is always the best!!! If you are interested in live music in Lansing make sure you get out and enjoy 2 more days!

While finishing a session Thursday night right at sunset I could hear someone completely ripping guitar work in the air. It was loud, it was good and it was real. I had to see where it was coming from. Walking toward the sound I thought….”Is someone busking on the Capitol steps”??? Please? I turned the corner and there he was setup on the steps and playing some super tasty riffs. Dude was talented and dang the setting was WOW. Took some photos and chatted a bit with him. This was a phenomenal period to a phenomenal session and evening. The night was filled with photos of a super cool client, a 65 mustang, killer sunset and then this. Thankful, this is why I love my camera and wow…this is what I do for a living.
