First ever in Detroit - local concert photographers at Detroit venues. Exhibit will be around for one month - 20 great shots for you to feel the excitement from photographer's perspective. Visit Black Box Dearborn, 1034 Monroe St in downtown Dearborn - opens Friday the 27th at 6:00 PM. No cost admission and areas best coffee drinks, iced or hot.

Wow. What can I say that I haven't already said about why concert photographers should respect the privilege of a photo pass and make sure to cover the entire evening. Nita Strauss was fantastic last night (Feb 16, 2025) at The Fillmore Detroit. Thanks to Live Nation Concerts for the opportunity to capture two great acts in one evening - Nita opened for Apocalyptica and it was an electric evening for sure. Were you there? ;-)

You know what I say....always show up for the opening act and 9 times out of 10 you won't be disappointed. Moody Joody opened for Arizona last night a Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit and played a great set. Mostly new music, one or two pieces that get released later this month - and the full-house loved it. Were you there? ;-)

How did I not remember to post from the Royel Otis show in Detroit from two months ago? I think as I edited, I noticed how much care I took to respect Royel Maddell's request for privacy - and taking care not to show his face in the photography. Shooting from the pit - it's hard NOT to include the face, but I managed. ;-)

Detroit was on the national stage this past weekend for the - and did they perform! Had the opportunity to shoot for Detroit Metro Times on the first day of the draft, April 25th - and it was awesome. Crowds were huge and orderly, people all over the downtown area, young, old, families - everyone enjoying themselves. This year's draft shattered previous attendance record (Nashville, 2019) as we hosted 750,000 people from all over. And as USA TODAY stated, "Detroit has raised the bar" for how to host an NFL Draft. Hope that means NFL will give Detroit Lions and the city another opportunity to hose in the near future. Check out my full gallery either at my site, missedyouattheshow.com or at MetroTimes.com.
