There’s something beautiful about the moments that don’t go according to plan. 🤍

Rheanna, Max and their family & friends traveled to Punta Cana to celebrate their wedding day, that was supposed to end beneath the tropical sky at Secrets Royal Beach. I had some time to photograph their beautiful set up on the beach prior to dinner, but just as the reception was approaching, a tropical storm rolled through and plans quickly shifted indoors.

And somehow, the change made the evening even more meaningful.
Rheanna made a second dress appearance, and instead of an outdoor reception, everyone gathered together in the hotel lobby around one of the bars, surrounded by the people who had traveled near and far to celebrate them. They listened to heartfelt speeches from their bridal party members of honor, laughed, embraced, and simply enjoyed being together.

It was a beautiful reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to unfold exactly as you imagined for it to be everything you hoped it would be. Because years from now, you may not remember the weather, the table layout, or the plans that had to change.

You’ll remember who stood beside you.
Who traveled for you.
Who held you close.
Who made you laugh.
Who surrounded you with love on one of the biggest days of your life.

And those are the moments worth remembering. 🤍

Before the music starts and the guests arrive, there are these quiet moments where everything finally comes together. The Grosse Pointe War Memorial was the perfect setting for a morning this timeless.

Olivia’s details reflected her so naturally. Soft blush and pink florals, a gown from Pieras Bridal with delicate floral embellishments, beadwork, and subtle sparkle, and Jimmy Choo heels finished with pearls and soft tulle. Nothing felt overdone. Every piece complemented the next and came together in a way that felt effortless.

Photographing these details is about more than documenting beautiful things. They’re the pieces chosen with intention, the ones that become part of the memories long after the day is over. Looking back at them brings you right back to how it all felt before walking down the aisle.

Some entrances don’t just begin the celebration, they build the anticipation.

The wedding party kicked off the evening with an energetic entrance onto the dance floor, filling the Colony Club with excitement. Then, all eyes turned upward as the newlyweds made their grand debut from the balcony, taking in the cheers from family and friends below. Moments later, they made their second entrance, joining everyone on the dance floor as the celebration officially came to life.

From the energy of the wedding party to the unforgettable two-part entrance of the new Mr. & Mrs., every moment felt bigger than the last. A grand beginning to an unforgettable night. ✨🤍

When a space is already breathtaking, it doesn’t take much to make it unforgettable.

Sumer and Alley’s engagement brunch at the Shinola Hotel was a beautiful reminder that intentional details create the most memorable celebrations. Nestled inside the sunlit Birdy Room, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, cascading greenery, and hanging lanterns created the perfect backdrop for an elegant afternoon with their closest family and friends.

A timeless palette of ivory, soft greens, and gold filled the room with warmth. Gold candelabras paired with delicate florals in bud vases brought just the right touch of sophistication, while handwritten name tags welcomed each guest with a personal touch. One of my favorite details was their custom bloom bar, where loved ones created their own bouquets to take home, turning a beautiful celebration into a meaningful keepsake.

Simple details, thoughtfully chosen, have a way of making even the grandest spaces feel warm, personal, and unforgettable.
