Hey! It’s been a minute!
I’m Chauncia, a Detroit-based wedding and portrait photographer. Outside of being a photographer I’m also a PhD student, getting a degree in Clinical Psychology. I’m entering my final year of doctoral school and will relocate this summer to complete a year long internship. To celebrate my journey and also help cover relocation cost, I am offering my photography services at a special rate.

Hey Loves! I am offering mini sessions next week, Saturday September 20th and have THREE slots left! If you've been wanting to take new headshots, family portraits, or pictures just because, now is a great time to do it! You'll get a 30 minute session and 30 final images. Worried about your kids sitting still? that is why 30 mins is great! But let's capture some playtime so they don't get bored! Camera shy? Ali and Danny, it was an honor being the photographer to document your memories. An evening where I could not stop smiling. Cheers to forever 🥂

- From the venue, the flowers, the napkins, chairs, dishes—it all plays a role into your wedding day!aesthetic and largely how your photos come out. As photographers we capture the realness of the environment we are in, which means we won’t change the banquet hall at the pizza place and make it look like Shinola’s atrium. What we can do is capture the authenticity of the moment and the details laid before us. Please keep this in mind, as you pick a photographer based on their aesthetic, while booking venues and decorations that may or may not bring a similar look and feel 📝

Hi Loves! 🖤🤍

There are new faces here and well, it’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself. I’m Chauncia, owner of Chauncia VanLowe Photography, capturing life’s adventures and it’s finest moments. I specialize in editorial portraits, weddings, and branding. I love crafting stories, and demonstrating my clients in a beautiful light. But okay- enough on that, let’s get in touch with each other

When I’m not a photographer, here’s what I’m doing.
• Strolling the city streets, admiring the changes occurring in Detroit and taking in the beauty of the historic buildings that still stand. It’s something about the art, the details, the craftsmanship, the love in those buildings that give it character
• Working on my fitness - fell off my game for a while and now I’m baaaaack. Recertified gym rat 😜💪🏾
• Studying clinical psychology- training to become a psychologist, ideally working with individuals and couples. Goal: Work within my community to educate and provide mental health resources, especially within low-income communities. So when ya see me, buy me a oakmilk lavender latte please 😩 late nights & early mornings
• Singing and dancing to my favorite R&B hits. I’ve been on a 90’s kick lately, you know Monica, Brandy…ima insert my pop favorites N*SYNC, Britney & Christina 😜. I love me some karaoke- best believe I’m signing up asap
