It’s probably not because you just don’t want it enough.

It’s probably not because you’re just not talented enough.

It’s actually unlikely to be any of those blame-y voices in your head.

It’s probably that you’re just not safe enough with yourself. Creativity and imagination require safety. We need self-trust. We need to know we have our own backs. We need to know we won’t be admonished for our thoughts, our feelings, our wonder and play. We need to be safe enough to make.

Folx I work with through coaching experience what it’s like to be mirrored back to themselves without all the nagging bu****it from conditioning—the blame-y voices. I get to show them what it’s like to be held in kind eyes. To be believed in. To start getting safe enough with themselves to admit what they want, what they need, and how to move toward the fulfilling life they’ve desired.

First session always free. Book through link in bio.

Ever notice how noisy your studio can be—even when you’re alone?
The critic. The algorithm. The art school ghost. The one that whispers “you’re behind.”

Here’s your reminder: not every voice gets a seat in your creative space.
Your studio—whether it’s a desk, a sketchbook, or your mind—is sacred ground.

Do a little Studio Inventory this week:
✴︎ Who’s allowed in?
✴︎ Who gets to speak while you’re making?
✴︎ Who needs to wait outside?

Set the boundary. Protect the frequency.
Your art deserves clearer air.

Want help making your studio feel like your own again?
That’s exactly what we explore in creative coaching—mental boundaries, energy audits, and reclaiming your voice.

Once a month, I send out a collection of all the creative things that have influenced me that month. I’ve gotten a tad behind bc I thought I wasn’t consuming enough, I want inspired enough, I didn’t have enough to report… but as I went through my logs… turns out there was PLENTYYYYYY. I just wasn’t feeling buoyed by it, but that’s not why I do this. I do this regardless… bc creations are the sea I swim in. Check out April’s For Your Inspiration on the Substack to see if we’re watching and reading any of the same things and/or to grow your watch and read lists. Happy making, pals.

What “dream” do you need to let go of to move forward? What do you need in order to take your steps into the unknown?

It’s that time of year: the self-portrait challenge. Today’s photo challenge is about “dirtying the frame” and a portion of the writing challenge from my dear friend are the above questions.

I’m in the studio today working in a different medium (collage?!) for some brand assets, so there’s no patience for tripods and lights and backdrops… just an iPhone and a child in some daylight. But the rhythm and the invitation of the challenge helps me start thinking photographically everyday in my little moments around the house.

My photo mentor reminds me often that my everyday is extremely familiar to me and may not seem interesting or visually interesting, but it may hold interesting things for others. I’ll be leaning into that this week AND practicing that ‘done’ and participation and community is better than perfection or trying to meet my own ideals in my v imaginative brain. 💛

Join in on the fun! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s self-portraits this week!

🪐 Creative Ecosystem Mapping

(aka: *WTF am I doing with my life and projects?*)

A one-time cosmic clarity session for creatives, visionaries, and human idea machines.
This is for the artist with too many tabs open.

The visionary in a fog.

The maker who feels stuck *but also kind of inspired* but also *weirdly tired but still compelled to keep going.*

If you’re in a creative transition, a season of growth, or a moment of questioning—this is your space. Especially if you’re neurodivergent, a multi-hyphenate, or orbiting a spiritual reimagining.
