My family was lucky enough to spend a week on Captiva, exploring the island and rinsing endless amounts of sand off my kids. The moment I saw the sun streaming through the palms, dancing with the shadows, I knew this newborn session would be special.

This beautiful (inside and out) cousin of mine was made to be a mother, and I hope these images reflect the tenderness, strength, and joy she brings to the role.

From elementary school to motherhood—who knew we’d be here? Life has a funny way of bringing things full circle, and getting to document this next chapter for an old friend felt like stepping into a time warp (except now, Outdoor Ed is replaced with snack negotiations and bedtime battles). Here’s to the days when we were just kids ourselves, and now, raising them.

I had the best morning hanging with Brooke. She’s such a talented micro baker and is the reason I love doing Small Business photography and will always support micro bakers. As a fellow mom of little kids, I love seeing how other moms incorporate their family life in to their entrepreneur life. Brooke effortlessly flowed from mom mode to sourdough expert, I was in total awe!
