Michael Bray Photography

Michael Bray Photography I live in Colorado, north of Denver and love to travel the USA and the world. My passion for capturing the beauty of the world.

I have had a camera since I was 17, when photography still used film, and digital photography was not even a concept.

World Art Day is a good reminder that art is not a finished thing. It's a practice. One that continues because people choose to be part of it.

My collectors are collaborators in that sense. I make the art, they give it a home.

"Light" exists in my studio until someone brings it into a place that means something to them.

Let's collaborate. Get 25% off through Saturday. Code ARTDAY26.

World Art Day exists because someone decided that art, as a living practice, deserved a day of recognition.

"IMG 2796" is part of that practice.

For an independent artist, it's a moment to reflect on what it all means and say thank you.

That's why I'm offering 25% off with code ARTDAY26.

World Art Day is a moment to acknowledge that making and collecting art is not a luxury reserved for institutions. It belongs to everyone.

A question worth sitting with today: what is the first work of art you remember truly stopping in front of? Not the most famous. Not the most expensive. The one that made you feel something before you had the language to explain it.

I'd genuinely like to know. Share it below.

"My Ballerina" is part of a collection of work made for moments like that one.

Happy World Art Day.

Art isn't decoration. It's a record of what we noticed, what moved us, what we wanted to hold onto. "Branches Reaching for Infinity: An Abstract Journey" is part of that conversation.

In honor of today, I'm offering 25% off in my shop through Saturday. Code: ARTDAY26.

Most people change their wardrobes with the season. Very few think to do the same with their walls.

Spring is actually one of the best moments to reassess what you are living with, not to redecorate constantly, but to ask whether the work on your walls still reflects who you are right now. Art is not furniture. It should evolve with you.

If you have been waiting for a reason to make a change, here's your permission slip.

"Trawler's Journey" is part of a growing collection.

"Winter's Gentle Touch" // https://www.michaelbrayphotography.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/nature-scenery-fence-0001

In this tranquil winter scene, I find a gentle pond flowing quietly, embraced by a rustic wooden fence that invites reflection. The trees, bare and resilient, stand tall against the soft gray skies, their branches lightly dusted with snow. This moment captures the stillness of nature, where time seems to pause, allowing the beauty of Colorado's winter to unfold.

Let this piece bring a sense of calm to your space, reminding you of the quiet moments that life offers.

One of the most common mistakes in placing art is going too small. A single work hung at the center of a large wall often feels lost, and the temptation is to add more.

But... adding more is rarely the answer.

Before buying, measure the wall space you are working with and aim for a work that occupies between two-thirds and three-quarters of the width. The right scale makes everything in the room feel more deliberate and helps the artwork shine.

"Peacefully Blue" is sometimes available in varied size options. Worth considering before you decide.

Spring is the season when people actually follow through on the room changes they have been thinking about all winter. If you have been considering adding "Whispers of Light: A Lighthouse Silhouette" to your space but want something more durable and substantial than paper, canvas is worth looking at seriously.

Canvas prints carry a depth and presence that holds up over time. They do not require glass, they travel well from wall to wall, and they look right at home, whether a space is minimal or full. A considered choice for a season of renewal.

A lot of people assume collecting art requires a particular budget.

What it really takes is starting small (one work, chosen carefully), which is more meaningful than filling walls quickly.

The collectors who build something worth having usually begin the same way: one decision at a time.

"Echoes of Adventure: An Abandoned Boat Cradled by Nature" is featured today. Check out the display and pricing options I have available.

Trends cycle. But original work by an independent artist carries something that mass production never can.

That specificity is part of what makes collecting meaningful. You are not buying decoration. You are acquiring a point of view.
"Modern Abstract Painting of a Palm Tree and Sky" is one example of work made with that kind of intention.
