Shutter / Sensor Visual Media My name is Ryan Murphy, and Shutter / Sensor Visual Media is my photography/videography business. I find happiness in storytelling. They are story telling tools.

Everybody has a story: good, bad, inspiring, beautifully put together or luckily stumbled upon. It’s the “how” that matters to me. I want to know the building blocks of your story. How did you get to where you are now? Thinking about what to do with my life, I realized I was fascinated with documentaries. They weren’t chronicles of dragons and knights, rather, they were inquiries into normal peopl

e’s lives. But, something made them special — their story. I decided this is what I wanted to do with my life: take people’s lives and solidify them into a fixed medium. I wanted to tell someone’s story. To me, photo and video are essentially the same. Thus, I started Shutter / Sensor.
