First day of spring. 🌻🌱 New life, new energy, new growth. After a long, cold winter, spring could not be more welcome at my house.

I’ll be ringing in the new season by getting outside more for nature walks and bringing sweet treats and meals to life with edible rose petals and lemon zest. These waffles from were fantastic with homemade whipped cream, roasted pears, and fresh blackberries. Adding lemon zest really gave the waffles the pop I was looking for, and rose petals are a lovely addition of delicate flavor and beauty to any dish. What about you? How are you celebrating the turn of a new season?

Which image resonates with you most and why?

I love telling a story with fresh produce and greenery, so the first one totally lights me up. I see this and instantly want to cozy up and stay a while with a warm cup of coffee & slice of citrus brioche.

I can’t take credit for the brioche (thank you ), but I love the creativity it sparked in me while setting up these lovely, calming scenes. Endlessly grateful to be learning new storytelling techniques from ’s mastermind!

I think we can all agree that we are READY to cheers to a new year. How are you ringing in 2022? I recently found Aidells® Chicken Meatballs in Teriyaki & Pineapple at Safeway, and they have been a lifesaver for keeping easy meals on standby while prepping for upcoming Holiday festivities.

Chicken meatballs make quick and healthy meal prep a breeze with their thoughtfully unexpected flavor combos and high-quality ingredients. My go-to this week has been this Teriyaki Chicken Meatball Salad. For such an easy midweek meal, you can’t beat the rich and vibrant flavors of this salad. Check out the recipe below and let me know how you like it!

Ingredients:

For the Salad:
1 12oz package of Aidells® Chicken Meatballs in Teriyaki & Pineapple
5 cups mixed salad greens
½ red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup cucumber ribbons
½ cup julienned carrot
½ cup cabbage, thinly sliced
½ cup mint leaves
½ cup cilantro leaves
1 cup grape tomatoes
2 tbsp crushed peanuts for garnish
2 tbsp sliced green onions for garnish

For the Salad Dressing:
3 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
2 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

Add all ingredients for the salad dressing in a small bowl, then mix well and set aside. Warm a large skillet to medium high heat and brown chicken meatballs for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly. Add all salad ingredients to a large bowl and top with browned meatballs. Drizzle with salad dressing and mix well. Garnish with peanuts and green onions and serve.

One of my favorite aspects of food photography is learning traditional cuisine from different cultures.

While reading up on fleischkaese to prepare for this shoot, I came across the same story time and time again -“reminds me of family dinners back home”, “takes me back to my grandmother’s kitchen”, and it’s even described as a “loaf of love” by Charcutnuvo.

It was an honor to shoot this traditional meal that dates back centuries and will transport you right to Austria, Switzerland, or the South of Germany - Fleischkaese paired with a sunny side up egg and fried potatoes. 🌿

Let it be known that galettes have officially entered my world as my new favorite food group. Savory or sweet — I’m here for them all. ’ Heirloom Tomato Galette recipe is to die for, and yields the most delightfully buttery + flakey dough and cozy combo of goat cheese & honey.

Thank goodness the heirlooms from our little patio garden survived the snow a few weeks back (thanks to our precious neighbors) and I got to use them in this recipe! We have a few left ripening in our windowsill — what should I make next? 😊
