Every shoot starts with a question. "What story are we telling?"
For this one with High Spirits, the question was "How do invoke human, in-person, analog, connection that feels real?"
So we leaned hard into that very ambiguous yet still very specific creative direction. Moments that feel less posed.
Game night over cards.
Records spinning on vinyl.
A beach day that runs long.
Friends actually talking instead of scrolling.
The goal wasn't necessarily the most polished images we could get, yet to hone in and find the perfection in the imperfections. Capture a brand inside real, analog environments, spaces where texture, light, and human interaction tell the story.
From a photography standpoint, this meant:
– Letting moments unfold instead of forcing them
– Shooting through movement, hands, and gestures
– Prioritizing atmosphere over perfection
This approach isn’t right for every brand, and that’s intentional.
But for Chris Fontes & High Spirits, it was the right story to tell.
If you’re a brand thinking deeply about how you want to show up visually, not just what you want to say, I’m always open to conversations about creative direction and storytelling.
Sometimes the strongest images don’t shout.
They just feel familiar.
