Super excited to announce that my Sherrie Williams Photography booth has been revamped, with some new pieces added to the mix!

I now have my new 2027 calendars available, along with a whole collection of 5x7 photography cards featuring wildlife, landscapes, flowers and some of my favorite winter scenes.

One thing that’s especially important to me: everything is printed locally. I love being able to support other local businesses while creating products from photographs I’ve taken myself.

It’s pretty fun seeing all of these images come off my camera, onto paper, and finally onto the shelves.

If you’re in the area, stop by Brown Street Emporium and take a look at the newly revamped display. You might even find a card, calendar or print that needs to come home with you. 😊

What an incredible way to end the day.

After all the rain, I wasn’t expecting much. Then the clouds started to break, and the sky put on one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in a long time. It just kept changing every few minutes.

We stayed on the dock until the colors finally faded, and Calvin made sure to squeeze in one last swim before calling it a night.

Days like this remind me why I love being at the lake

After all the rain, I decided to grab my kayak and head over to one of my favorite little coves in a tiny little lake by Lake Tomahawk, WI

The loons were already there, quietly fishing. Before long, they were swimming right beneath my kayak, completely at ease. I stayed still and let them do their thing.

I wish I could have shared that moment on video, but some experiences are meant to be lived more than recorded.

A little while later, another loon joined them. I stopped paddling.

They floated.
I simply floated with them.

For a while, we just shared the lake.

No rush. No noise. Just the gentle sounds of the water and three beautiful loons going about their day. I loved listening as they called softly back and forth to one another. It wasn't loud, but they were definitely having a conversation.

I don't know how long we drifted together, and honestly, it didn't matter.

These are the moments I treasure most. The photographs help me remember them, but they'll never quite capture what it felt like to be there.

Sometimes the greatest gift nature gives us isn't the photograph. It's the peace we take home with us.

One of my favorite things about being out with my camera is catching up with the locals.

Some are chatty, some are shy, and some just pose like they own the place. The loon, squirrel, and turtle all seemed perfectly at home, and honestly, they probably are. The chippy is an angry fellow because I was in his space.

Standing inside this monument, I felt something bigger than history. I felt a reminder.

The Befreiungshalle was built to honor victory over Napoleon and the wars of liberation, but what moved me most was not the battle it commemorates. It was the message carved into every detail. Freedom is never accidental. It is earned, protected, and carried forward by people willing to sacrifice for something beyond themselves.

The circle of figures holding hands stopped me in my tracks. Strength, unity, connection. Not one standing alone, but all linked together. That image felt timeless. Because freedom has always required courage, but it also requires community.

We often speak of freedom as if it is permanent, as if it simply exists on its own. Places like this remind us otherwise. Freedom asks something of every generation: responsibility, gratitude, vigilance, and a willingness to stand together when it matters most.

I left inspired, humbled, and grateful for those who came before us, and mindful of what we are called to protect now.

Tonight’s sky reminded me of tie-dye.

As someone who in the past planned everything down to the minute, moments like this have been teaching me something different lately… sometimes the best thing you can do is pause long enough to actually notice what’s happening around you.

The colors shifted every few minutes. Blues into purple, orange into gold, storm clouds mixed with calm water. No filters needed. Just nature doing what it does best.

On this Memorial Day morning, my son and I slipped out for a sunrise kayak as the lake slowly woke up around us. The mist rising, the birds - especially the turkeys were quite awake, the quiet movement of the water (except my paddling)… it felt like we were waking up alongside nature itself.

Today reminds me how blessed we are to have the freedom to enjoy simple mornings, peaceful places, and time with the people we love. I’m especially grateful for the men and women who served our country, including my dad, whose sacrifices helped make these moments possible.
