A Ben Larrabee Photography Experience is up for auction, and it's going to a good place.

The winning family receives a portrait session with Ben and a $500 credit toward prints. Total value $3,500. Every bid goes to Small Friends on Nantucket, the Island's only childcare center for children three months to five years old, where working parents find year-round care and early education they can count on.

Earlier this year, Germany's fotoMAGAZIN dedicated a 6-page review to Ben's book "Trudie: A Portrait."

At first glance, it may seem like a book about n**e photography. In reality, it is something far more personal: the tender, still-enamored gaze of a man upon his wife. The review draws a direct line from Ben's mentor Harry Callahan, who famously photographed his own wife Eleanor for nearly two decades, to Ben's 20 years with Trudie.

"The photobook is a declaration of love for his wife and their life together. A hymn to the erotic sparks that can still fly in a relationship over a long period of time."

There's a new reason to visit the third floor at the Darien Sport Shop.

Ben Larrabee's Moments of Grace, a collection of 13 fine art family photographs, is now on display at 1127 Post Rd, Darien, CT. Each image reflects Ben's approach to family portraiture: recognizing and recording those fleeting yet memorable glimpses of life that we take for granted.
